I think they need to keep an eye on that judge's bank accounts for some unusually large deposits in the near future.

by sammielee24 inone percenter convicted of raping infant child dodges jail because he 'will not fare well'the huffington post | by ashley almanposted: 03/30/2014 10:45 pm edt updated: 03/31/2014 12:59 pm edt a delaware man convicted of raping his three-year-old daughter only faced probation after a state superior court judge ruled he "will not fare well" in prison.. in her decision, judge jan jurden suggested robert h. richards iv would benefit more from treatment.
richards, who was charged with fourth-degree rape in 2009, is an unemployed heir living off his trust fund.
the light sentence has only became public as the result of a subsequent lawsuit filed by his ex-wife, which charges that he penetrated his daughter with his fingers while masturbating, and subsequently assaulted his son as well.. richards is the great grandson of du pont family patriarch irenee du pont, a chemical baron.. according to the lawsuit filed by richards' ex-wife, he admitted to assaulting his infant son in addition to his daughter between 2005 and 2007. richards was initially indicted on two counts of second-degree child rape, felonies that translate to a 10-year mandatory jail sentence per count.

Eccentric Jehovah's Witnesses
by snowbird inso as not to hijack logcon's thread about crazy things jw's have said to householders, i'd like to start one about just plain old odd jw's.. for example, i knew this dear, dear senior brother who would carry a small bag of peanuts in one pocket of his suit coat and a small plastic bag of brown sugar in the other.. during that time, we would stay out all day long because the territory was extensive.. can't you just picture that precious soul alternately tossing a few peanuts/crumbs of sugar into his mouth as he schlepped from house to trailer, from trailer to house?.
the householders would usually offer us water, lemonade, kool-aid, or soda pops, so no problem with finding something to quench our thirsts.. those were the days!.

The craziest were often the ones most devoted to the field service.
I had a brother like that in my hall but to be honest he is the only JW I know that I have any respect for. He lived what he believed 100%. Literally every single person in our area knew who he was and knew Jehovah’s name because of him. If JWs actually believed the end was right around the corner they would all be acting more like that. The bible pretty much says you are going to look like a crazy person because of your preaching doesn't it?

Photography and HDR
by ILoveTTATT inas i have mentioned before, i love photography, and specially a technique called hdr.
hdr stands for high dynamic range, and it means the ratio of the "lightness" of the lightest spot in the picture to the darkest.. .

Interesting Choice of Words
by piztjw ini get into words, and why certain words are used, and the meaning of certain words as they are used, especially by the wt&t$.
i noticed the way this statement about relief work in the phillipines news article on j.worg was written:.
"an estimated 15 to 20 percent of those seeking refuge at the site are non-witnesses.".
-

It does seem odd to call them non-Wittnesses even if it wasn't to demean them in some way. Maybe just a PR move written by one of the "10 years of reading the Awake" educated JWs.
Honestly that number seems rather low considering, as snare&racket and AudeSapere pointed out, that many of these are likely non-baptised children and mates. And it didn't say they were permitted to enter, just that they were seeking refuge. Wonder if that has any meaning?

I had a CO that found $3.00 in an old pack of cigarettes on the ground. From then on he would stop to inspect any he saw to see if they had any money in them. It was cute at the time but looking back it is a little sad.

Crazy things witnesses have said to householders.
by LogCon ina hungarian brother used to come up with some humdingers.
he was a child when his family escaped from hungary when the soviets came storming in about 1957. he would be at the door, a young person would answer, and he would ask him, 'what do you think of the situation?
' meanwhile the person is thinking, 'huh?".

I have wondered about that myself. I always kind of figured perfection meant you wouldn't make those kinds of mistakes.

2014: do you see Witnesses ramping up activity? What will the aftermath be in 2015?
by JimmyPage injw's often say they don't serve with any dates in mind.
but the fact is many of them can't fathom why the end just hasn't come yet.
since 2014 marks 100 years of invisible rule many witnesses can't help but think this has some special meaning.

We are already 1/4 way through the year does this prediction of increased activity seem to have any merit? 2014 does seem like a psychological year. It would have been for me.
The memorial is like the new year's resolution. It is when everyone including the inactive ones put in extra effort for a month or two only to see if fade again until next year.
I think 2014 is the memorial of years. We may see a lot of increased activity but not long after this year is over it will revert to the norm. We can even hope that it is a "sifting" year where the exodus will be even greater than normal. Can we hope for a JW Bear Market?
