Q: Banker suicide rates are climbing, is economic collapse near? I think so.
No refrences and a search of google only shows that site for the exact match.

i have hesitated to post anything about my recent encounters with our jw doctor, because i don't really want anyone to insult her or me, for continuing to rely on her for medical care.
our family doctor is a jehovah's witness.
we were referred to her by our former bs conductor.
Forget the doctor I like that you had a "BS conductor". Sounds quite apropriate.
will you share with me an interesting discussion on what morals we all may have in common?
my recent reading has resulted in a fundamental shift in my worldview.
it feels like my house of cards have reshuffled themselves yet again, and everything i see, hear and smell is put in a new context.
jgnat that story definitely falls under the "uncomfortable to watch"category.
But it does make me want to add cruelty to animals to the list. Especially when it is unnecessary, like cutting the fin off a shark and throwing it back into the water to die. I do eat meat but I am becoming more and more conscious of how the animals are treated while they are alive.
And I do judge people for producing and being part of those eating shows that seem so popular these days. But that is just because I can't figure out why anyone would want to watch another person stuff food in their mouths

If all parties are agreeable I say live and let live. Spent way to many years judging others only to find out I was completely wrong.
That doesn't mean that certain things wouldn't make me uncomforable if I had to watch.
One thing that I might judge someone for is being a capable adult while gaming the system. People who collect welfare or workmans comp when they are able to work come to mind. Even there it isn't a black and white issue, the goverment takes our money in taxes, why not get some back if you can.
its been mentioned here before that the governing body almost never mentions the verses in luke about the faithful and discreet slave.
one reason is because the scriptures are more in detail but could this also be the real reason they don't mention these scriptures.. .
luke 12:41new international version (niv).
And why doesn't the GB use Luke's account more than Matthew's?
Although I still find it quite confusing it makes more sense than Matthew's version.

Jesus basicaly answered a question with a question.
Is that question ever answered?
Are these two scriptures the whole basis for GB giving themselves the title of FDS?
as many of you know, whom have been in the org for a while.. the wt is hard coded into your mind.
sometimes, i will read a wt, to make sure that i hadn't imagined all of the ridiculousness... and then i read a wt like this : http://m.wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2004168 (is linking to this legal?).
i especially enjoyed this section : .
Is it just me? Vs 45 seems like a segway fromthe rest of that chapter.
43 “But know one thing: If the householder had known in what watch* the thief was coming,+ he would have kept awake and not allowed his house to be broken into.+ 44 On this account, you too prove yourselves ready,+ because the Son of man is coming at an hour that you do not think to be it.
How did they go from that to this?
“Who really is the faithful and discreet* slave whom his master appointed...
and to objectivetruth's point, not only do they distinguish between the faithful slave and the evil one but they make the faithful one plural
"Yes, the “evil slave” came from the ranks of the faithful slave" Huh???
Maybe the faithful one had an evil slave child?
It also sounds like they might just have someone specific in mind....
I find that verse a bit odd too.
It seems to refer to the same slave as being faithful in one breath and evil in the next with no qualifier.
I did find one translation that says " But suppose that servant is wicked and says.... " which makes a lot more sense.
isnt this somehing that would be against god or at least hypocritical?
jws who were in the military but quit still accept money from their jobs so they can pioneer and still get paid..... or am i being too harsh.. .
This causes me some cognitive dissonance. It would seem that the FDS, while being hypocrital in this regard, have inadvertenly done the right thing.
i have never been a jw.
in fact, i've never set foot inside a kh.
my parents began studying in the early 70s, before i was born.
I think I was looking for reassurance that I could go on living my life in the way that pleased me, without giving any thought to the one who created me. I didn't find that.
In the past three months, I've given more thoughts to things eternal than I have in a long time. I'm tired of living for myself. In brief moments of clarity, I grasp what it means to live for Christ Jesus; other thoughts seem to fade away. Work isn't as consuming, travel plans aren't as interesting. The plans I have to fill out my three score and ten pale in comparison to the love that someone who never met me has shown. That is the good news, and I see why people would want to share it.
I think those are just feelings of growing older. Or maybe it is a shift peoples attitude in general. Wouldn't that be nice. Look at all the old rich people starting to give away their fortunes. Bill Gates, Warren Buffett to name a couple. I saw an episode of 60 minutes where they are starting a club of sorts to encourage other rich people to do the same.

It does NOT mean you need to become a JW! Honestly I think the JW religion is one of the most selfish religions around. They rarely do anything for anyone even other JWs. And the only reason they do anything at all is because they think they will be buying themselves a ticket to the new system.
at the meetings i've noticed over the past 2 years or so brothers asking for 'special blessings' for the governing body.
it was everyonce in a while at first.
now it is almost at every single meeting!
Guess they figured out they were wrong all these years and were being discreet for nothing
