Elders finally took me to the back room...
by OneDayillBeFree inafter several months of leaving the meetings as soon as they ended or only staying for "the first meeting" then leaving the "second part", the elders finally cornered me at last night's meeting.. they said they were concerned about me and that being that i am a young brother in a recently divided congregation they saw so much potential in me to help out the congregation and become a ms.. i told them i was thankful for their thinking of me to help the congregation but that at the moment i could not due to my job.
then the began asking personal questions that got on my nerves.. they asked where i worked and how much i made.
they asked if i was going to college and what i was studying and for how long.

Well I am only in for family reasons. I don't really care about any of the other people because honestly they don't actually care about you anyway... Most of them that is.
I know the day is coming for me when I'll leave but right now I'm just going on with my fade. I stopped pioneering and before the split in my hall I also stepped down from being a MS. I seldom comment or engage in meaningless small talk with people who are practically strangers who don't give a crap about you inside.
But the elders are indeed desperate for more male brothers to help them! I mean it's actually crazy how we have about 6 elders and no MS AT ALL! There's only about 8 pioneers in my hall and they're all old/jobless/on welfare/food stamps/carless people! And they want me to join!
And you guys are right, it wasn't any of their business! Actually when they asked me those questions I gave a puzzled look, as if to not understand what they were asking. Since it was literally one question after the other, I gave yes & no answers but never said to which question my answer went!
I also focused more on my job than anything else because they don't like brothers and sisters who go to college at all and didn't want to get them on my case for that.
And yeah that app is great! It works so good! I've only used it during JW moments lol like the meetings, service, assemblies, and now this.
And I also agree with you guys, I'm not going back in there with them again. Next time I'll just decline and tell them that whatever they want to tell me can be said for all to here.

After several months of leaving the meetings as soon as they ended or only staying for "the first meeting" then leaving the "second part", the elders finally cornered me at last night's meeting.
They said they were concerned about me and that being that I am a young brother in a recently divided congregation they saw so much potential in me to help out the congregation and become a MS.
I told them I was thankful for their thinking of me to help the congregation but that at the moment I could not due to my job. Then the began asking personal questions that got on my nerves.
They asked where I worked and how much I made. They asked if I was going to college and what I was studying and for how long. They asked if I was "emotionally involved" with another sister or a worldy person. They asked me if I was angry at any brother in the congregation or if I had done anything to upset Jehovah. One of them even said if I had sinned "behind closed doors".
I got mad. But held my tongue! Before getting inside the back room I opened up an app that makes it look as if someone is calling you and set it for 5 minutes... And just before they could ask any further, it went off and I kindly but firmly asked to be excused.
Then I came back in after about 30 seconds and, still holding the phone, told them that it was work and that they needed me ASAP so I had to go.
The look on their faces was priceless. As I exited the hall one of the elders who really gets under my skin said out loud, "you must set your priorities ____!". To which I replied, "I have! Thanks!" got in the car and left.
I'm afraid they will try to talk with me again & I don't know what I should do next time.

Did You Give Much $$$ To The Kingdom Hall And/Or Watchtower Society?
by minimus ini typically gave $$$ to the local kh and seldom gave donations to the society.. i always am amazed how some church going people have very little materially, yet make sure the church and the pastors are well taken care of..

I remember donating most of my allowance as a kid. I was always told I was doing something good but I never felt good inside.
The last time I actually donated something was at the last CA. It was $1 folded up. Only did it cause there was a cute girl at the contribution box and I wanted to talk to her... Suffice it to say it was money well spent!

I'm in, and having a hard time biting my tongue sometimes
by noonehome ini spend allot of time with other young witnesses my age, and am very close to a few of these friends.
my question is, is there any way to safely talk about doubts?
for instance, i've been learning allot about evolution and the science behind the flood (or lack thereof).

Hey alright someone my age! Haha
I'm still in as well and in the exact same situation as you.
It's very hard to communicate doubts without making them feel like you don't believe. Plus if the elders get word of it, I know of cases where brothers have been d'fed for "causing divisions of any kind" within the congregation.
Now even though I'm not sure what kind of divisions were caused, we all know here that they hate divisions based on a mentality not in agreement with the governing body.
But I've gotten a few of my friends to think, one is currently heading for inactivity and that's given me a lot of liberty to show him little bits of the truth about the truth from the watchtowers own publications.
But sometimes it does get very difficult and that's when this site comes in handy! Sometimes talking to others on here who think alike and are free to share their ideas and doubts can feel very good.
I hope the best for you and welcome to the forum!

Anybody at an assembly right now?
by OneDayillBeFree ini know this is a long shot and my identity as a witness is certainly at stake but anyone at a circuit assembly right now who is mentally out/disfellowshipped/faded who'd like to meet up?.
i can't disclose the location but i'm curious though.
i mean i know that there are assemblies and conventions all year long so i'm pretty sure there's more than one going on now but i'm extremely bored and annoyed and can barely keep from showing my anger at hipocresy and lies that are being said on the platform!

So far the only thing keeping me awake is reading Paradise lost: day zero! It's such an awesome book!
Anyway, PM me if you are or what not!

I believe that everyone of us, witnesses or not, should take a look at this video. It's a beautifully done short film/documentary about Robert Fitzpatrick shot starting on May 1st, 2011 until the 21st of May. It nearly made me cry as I heard the similarities between his beliefs and those of the witnesses.
In the end I had to ask myself, are Jehovahs witnesses any different than them or any other end times cult/religion? Of course I know the answer, but the fact of seeing someone with such a strong conviction even though he is wrong just makes me feel sick to my stomach as it's almost an exact parallel for all of the honest hearted good brothers and sisters out there who belief everything the WTB&TS tells them.
What do you guys think?
I wish you all a happy post mayan apocalyptic day along with a merry christmas and a happy new year.
