by Black Man inhey everybody, i'm in the middle of an ongoing debate w/some jws and they are asserting that everyone knows what they're getting into when they are studying and getting baptized and that nobody forces anyone to become a jw and that you can leave anytime you want.
ok, we know that's not true.

by 21stcenturywoman inwhen i was growing up most of the jws around me were poor and lower middle class.
some were middle class, but very few were upper middle class.
only (maybe) about 1% were college educated.

The only affluent people in our congo were the NON DUB husbands whose bored-as-hell-housewife spouses had joined up.
Seemed anyone with an education or could read past a 3rd grade level was onto them!

Do Active Witnesses Find Meetings Exciting?

Hey I read on a cult information site that many kids forced to sit for long periods without any entertainment develop habits like dermatoillomania/tricholtillomania (skin picking and hair pulling respectively)
I was a child dub - Now I have a terrible time with my dermatillomania - my arms looks like i have been tortured with cigarrette burns - the scars are everywhere - shoulders too.
Any other ex dubs have this?

'matthew 24:14 says that 'this good news will be preached in all the inhabited earth as a witness to all nations and then the end will come' thus wecan conclude that as there are still villages such as those in the peru which have never met white men or outsiders, until those villagers receive the truth, amrmageddon cannot come!

by ballistic inthis isn't exactly what i believe because i'm always changing my mind, but i kinda think this type of idea sounds interesting.
some bits stollen from elsewhere and other bits mixed with my own original thought.... the universe doesn't really exist, it's all in the mind of god.
well not strictly true, god doesn't have a mind as such; the universe and everything in it including us is all part of god.

Thats not a new religion - it's Advaitism (one if the 3 branches of Hinduism .... which the Buddha then took and created Bhuddism from.
Merging with the Brahman is an idea that's been the vedas for thousands of years.

The dubs think everyone is completely ignorant and they dont have good answers for doctrinal theory rebuttal.
I remember all those thursday nights at theocratic ministry school:
Brother / sister A gets up on stage and witnesses to Brother/Sister B - who sits/stands and listens SO attentively from the Get Go , and never asks any confronting questions but just nods their head like a sheep saying "hmmm" "aahhhh" "Ohhhh! REALLY? wow!!!"
I never used to even WRITE my talks - even when I started in TMS at age 10. I would go and grab a girlfriends or relative abotu 20 minutes before the meeting started, sit down with them and run over it ONCE and let them now where to put the oohs ahhhs and make a couple of kool aid comments.
I never learnt any presentation skills from TMS - all I got all my training from Modelling Academy and High School Debating Team (Though Im sure as I worked as a TV host for a while all my dub family probably credited TMS for my oratory skills)
Typical of Dubs - this video shows that they love to answer a question with a question. If you dont know the answer - CHANGE the subject.

SO logically there would have to be at some point, and end to the birth of animals...and humans?
The world can only handle so many people and animals.
actually thats a really sad thought that some people woud never be able to have children of their own
