How about having a special undercover mode so PIMOs can browse the site with greater security?
by Island Man inwhen you visit the site it says jehovahs-witness big and bold.
a pimo might be browsing the site and a jw might come up behind him unexpectedly and notice he's visiting a site about jws other than jw.org, which can lead to the pimo reported for viewing apostate information.. to help remedy this risk, i was thinking about the possibility of having a button that activates an undercover mode where the title of the site is not prominently displayed so it's not easily apparent to an accidental eavesdropper that it's an apostate website.
also, the color-scheme and graphics can be different so that it doesn't look like the regular site.

Reddit post about elder asking congregation for money to fix his car!
by LongHairGal inyes, there’s a post on reddit.
it says that after a zoom meeting a request was made to baptized publishers to give $20 apiece to fix this elder’s car.. while this sounds highly irregular to me and not necessarily approved by the religion, i am not at all surprised at the nerve.
this, unfortunately, seems to be the direction that things are going there!

What you are telling is a situation even we as missionaries wouldn’t have and they still don’t have (I correspond with one). So again where does it say this has been changed as you are still in a congregation. And why would the society with all the, according to them, financial problems they have spend money like this? Makes no sense brother.

14 Special pioneers are usually selected from among regular pioneers who have demonstrated their effectiveness in the ministry. They must be able to serve wherever the branch office chooses to assign them. Often, this is an isolated area where they can find interest and form new congregations. At times, special pioneers are assigned to congregations that need help in covering their territory. Some special pioneers who are also elders have been assigned to help small congregations, even when there is no particular need for more workers in the field. Special pioneers receive a modest allowance for living expenses. Some special pioneers are appointed on a temporary basis. -

Ex Bethelite.
Since when get SP’s their rent, car and bills (what kind of bills) paid?
I have been a SP before being a missionary and all we received was an allowance and we had to pay everything with that money. “Living the good life”? Are you joking? I had two work a day a week just to not starve.
Reading your posts I sometimes wonder ….

I think when you are brought up the old fashioned cruel way as a jw child, spent many years of your life in fulltime service (me untill 40), you’re life is ruined anyway.
I am 63 now and there are still moments my “worldly” wife to whom I am married now for 17 years doesn’t understand my “natural” restrictions, inhibitions. In other words, you’re fucked up, knowing or not knowing. Live your life and say welcome to the day you’re out of this.

They have learned a lot since the Raymond Franz case. One is to never disfellowship a brother or sister in “a position”. I have written my experience of a judicial committee were we had to handle the case of a fellow missionary who had done something outrageous. Every one of us three were told beforehand NOT TO DF her. Because of the good name JW had in that city.
So Tony could have been drunk, have committed whatever but we will probably never know. What mentioned before, no old or ill person in that positition would have been forced to leave Bethel.

I have received messages, but when someone just writes “why did you leave”, or “in which country did you serve”, without any kind word of introduction, I just ignore. You should do the same, I think.

How come the old boys on the GB don't get kicked out at 70?
by eyeslice init would appear that circuit overseers (no dos these days i guess) are taken off at 70 years old.
even older ones in bethels are disposed (sorry 're-assigned to the field) of before they get too past it.. how come though the old boys on the gb aren't shown the door at 70 and replaced by younger men - obviously of the recently anointed type?
they don't look a particularly fit bunch so they can't claim special mightiness because of doing 'the lord's work'.

Because they are above all rules. Even their laundry is washed separately by special assigned brothers. And a lot of times get their lunch at their rooms served.
