Many of the Rank'n'File have no idea the book exists. The only time I saw it "legitimately" was when I was a ministerial servant- we had to meet with the CO during his visit. He'd have a meeting with the MSs and Elders, then dismiss the MSs and talk to just the elders. Anyhow, on his MS+Elders talk, he read aloud a few paragraphs from the flock book. He had the elders get theirs out, and we were allowed to "look on" as he read. What a "privilege"!

Anybody's cong. not use trolleys?
by OverlappingGeneralizations inall this talk about trolley witnessing made me think- our hall has at least two of them, maybe 3. and i have never seen them used.
they just collect dust in the closet.
it's not for lack of somewhere to use them; we have territory spanning several cities, we have plenty of summer fairs/fests, but nobody will take them out.

Change(s?) to revised nwt
by Saltheart Foamfollower ini don't think this has been picked up anywhere yet.
the revised nwt released in 2013 is already out of date.
the second half of psalm 51:4 now reads "therefore, you are righteous when you speak, you are right in your judgment" in the online version where the printed version reads "so that you might prove righteous when you speak, and be right in your judgment".. fairly unimportant in itself, but i wonder what else has been changed without telling anyone..

Ever notice in the new "Silver Sword" that the page headings in Psalms, some say "Psalm" and some say "Psalms". Flip through, you'll see it. It just bugs my OCD, lol.

Need Suggestions/examples: Guide to helping family & friends break free
by LisaRose ini was going through my copy of steve hassan's combating cult mind control and it occurred to me that it would be great to have something like this specifically for us ex jehovah's witnesses.
while this is a great book, the examples he uses are mostly from people that were moonies, as steve is a former moonie and many people that have contacted him for help were relatives of moonies.
while cults all work basically the same, it would be nice to be have some ideas on things that are specific to jehovah's witnesses.

Expanding number of DC/RC's
by DwainBowman inaccording to my elder in law, by next year the number of dc/rc's will increase by 143. the size of conventions will get smaller.
the elder in law says the goal is to make them all have around 2,000 or so at each.
they are going to make more manuals detailing each job and it's responsibilities.

I bet if they made the RC shorter (2 days) they'd probably still have it on friday and saturday instead of saturday and sunday, just so people would still be required to quit their jobs if they can't get friday off.

Convention Videos: Someone messed up royally
by ILoveTTATT2 in.
when i first saw the video, i was like, "wait... is that her... panties showing through the dress"?and it seems like it is so.turns out that if you look at the middle right of the video, there are some letters.
it reads, "footage provided by pond5".if someone wants to purchase that video to confirm, you can purchase it here:http://depositphotos.com/63621499/stock-video-violinist-girl-walking-through-a.htmli think that this was a royal mess up because i doubt they would put footage of a sister in a skimpy, revealing dress.doesn't the gb approve this?this will probably go down as another of the "subliminal images"...if there are thongs in paradise... might not be so bad after all!.

New commentary on revelation coming up?
by EdenOne ini heard through the grapevine about a forthcoming book:.
together through the great tribulation - come to jehovah's mountain.
still awaiting solid confirmation though.

Well, when "Digging for Spiritual Gems" leaked, I demanded that name was too dumb to be real. I was wrong.
So now I will patiently wait and see. I highly doubt an actual book will be released. They'll want an online-only version so they can change the wording without having to print a "corrections" insert like that had to do last time.

Yeah right- Even at the height of my uber-dubdom, if some self-righteous elder wanted me to put on his special white shirt, I would have told him he could give the talk if it matters that much. I am weird about my clothes, and I surely wouldn't wear some random ill-fitting shirt that who-knows-how-many other brothers sweated all over. Gross.
But back on topic- there is one big fat narcoleptic diabetic pioneer sister. She insists on driving, runs all her errands with the group in the car (shopping, post office, etc). Then rewards herself with a big sugary coffee and donut and falls asleep at the wheel. -

Who can come up with the punch line why JW's are not delusional.
by James Mixon injw seek treatment for mental breakdown.. he tells the physician, my non-jw family tell me i'm nuts because i preach we are the only true religion (jws).. the doctor said that is strange because i have two patients that checked in yesterday and they .
each said they belong to the only true religions.
one is a mormon and the other a muslim.. so the doctor thought i will lock all three up in the same room for the night and see what.

"Because the muslim and I decided to sacrifice the mormon and see which of our gods would light the fire first. I teased the muslim and told him that Allah must be taking a dump, that's why the fire won't light. He got all mad and set off his suicide vest, which simultaneously killed him, and lit the sacrifice on fire. Woo-hoo, thanks God!" -

This week's resurrection video, will it backfire on the wt?
by prologos inthe resurrection is supposed to be a joyous occasion?, if it ever happened!
--well, this week's showing at the hall was the opposite, it was about death with violins playing in the background.
a recently bereaved member, , full of tears, (like many others) could not contain herself.

A born-in relative of mine angrily said "why do they have to keep making me cry!?!"
It's true, and it's sad. Last weeks video with the suicidal woman, then this week watching a loved one die, wtf... Yeah, real encouraging.
I mean, what congregation doesn't have SOMEBODY who has had a recent (or impending) death to deal with? How heartless to make a video that is nothing more than an intentional gut-punch.
If you want to highlight paradise, use what works; speak the dubbie language. Show them picnic baskets, khakis, and cuddly grizzly bears. That's the formula. It's worked since day one.
Nobody is going to be drawn to this modern-day tear-jerking crap. Can you imagine a person coming to that video on their first visit? I bet it would be their only visit...
