Mr. Flipper Talks with Bethel Legal Service Desk Rep About JW Child Abuse

well - i had been wanting to do this for a long time , to question a legal department representative at bethel about the child abuse settlements and jw child abuse, since last year when the news came out about it.

especially since my dad , an elder for years was never aware of it and has on his own taken steps to see that families with children are informed if a former pedophile is in their congregation.

i was curious as to what the current views and policies in place are .

I told him, " I disagree, the Catholics at least openly apologized to the victims last summer publicly after settling the $ 600,000,000 lawsuits with them. At least they acknowledged their liability. I have seen no such remorse from the Watchtower society. Your religion tried to hide it by settling out of court ! " He said, " There was no hint the victims felt compelled to settle ! They were not victimized again ! " I said, " Well, they probably didn't have the financial means to continue going at it in the courts like you did with your Watchtower attorneys ! And, what child abuse victims want to keep bringing the acts up over and over again for years in court ? I'd want to settle too, just to get it done with ! "

finally, i will look at biblical and patristic evidence bearing on the crucifixion of jesus in particular.

we need to examine the earliest known descriptions of the kind of crucifixion adopted by the romans and the specific terms they used to refer to it.

apparently the society believes that crux still meant "stake" in the second century a.d., when tacitus composed his annals.

i had it out with hubby this weekend.

i think what set it off was a "to-do" list that he made first thing in the morning that listed all the chores i needed to do under his name and the chore under my name was to go to the kh with him to hear the co give a talk about "why the bible is accurate".

can anyone explain to me what "no one comes to the father but through me" means ?.

i told my mom, who is getting baptized tomorrow in the baptist faith, that we have to pray to the father, not jesus like they do.

she told me that they pray to jesus because jesus said, "no one comes to the father but through me", so they pray to jesus directly, and then he relays the prayer to the father.

If you have a Kingdom Interlinear Translation, you will see that the word "me " is in John 14:14 in the Greek text. I wonder why the NWT took that word out.

It would be impossible for me to pick a favorite song by the Beatles -- I loved so many of them. Some of my favorites were A Day in the Life, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Across the Universe.

My favorite album by them is probably Abbey Road.

Yes.

They do not use that phrase. They are baptized into "God's spirit-directed organization" (or some phrase similiar to that).
