  november 15 study edition, p24 para 5.. "regarding his "thorn in the flesh", paul made fervent pleas to jehovah (the scripture actually says the lord) read 2 cor 12: 8 - 10) god did not miraculously relieve paul of the "thorn in the flesh".

  instead, god strengthened him to endure it.

  Misquotes from the "Reasoning Book" re: Cross (scans included)

  the "reasoning book" claims that the 1874 edition of the imperial bible dictionary verifies the idea that jesus was crucified on a stake.

  however, when you check the reference with the imperial bible dictionary, you see that it acutally is not as clear cut as that.. as usual, the infamous "..." of the watchtower has been used to edit out any opposing ideas in the source that they cite.. i know that this may have been mentioned before, but the scans of the imperial bible dictionary that are floating around the internet are from later editions, hence the page numbers are not those cited in the reasoning book.. .

  i was doing some research last night, and found out that luke 21:8 has only been specifically commented on once in the last 40 years in the watchtower!

  i know that dubs think that apostasy set in quickly in the early church, but i am not certain how early the think that it set in.

  do they think that it was in the apostolic fathers, directly after them, legalization of christianity, etc.

  It states: "How does Jesus' death affect you? Why was it the greatest demonstration of love? Will you be counted among Jesus' friends?"

  My question is: Do JWs consider themselves Jesus' friends? I never heard that before.
