Awww that's heartbreaking. It's disgusting that the elders swept that under the carpet. How dare they! Those poor children. I'm glad these things are getting exposed. I think 5 years sentence seems very lenient though. -

NWT...how accurate?
by Theburstbubble ini'm sorry if i'm covering old ground here.
but is the nwt bible a credible translation of the scriptures?
i'm not asking if you believe in the bible or not.
-
Theburstbubble
I don't know why but I find it quite sad if the NWT is so misleading to support their own beliefs. Well I do know why it makes me feel sad because it means everything was a lie. I know there is a lot wrong with this religion but I had hoped the NWT was a good version. Thanks for the information, I'll do some more research. -

Disfellowshipped for celebrating Xmas?
by Theburstbubble ini could really do with some advice on what's acceptable when you leave.
we have left of our own accord about 6 months ago.
we didn't celebrate xmas this year but have just celebrated my daughters birthday.. a friend of mine who is still a witness told me that an elder had approached her and asked if we had celebrated xmas and that if we did it was a df offence as is classed as apostasy!

Peony I'm so sorry to hear about your skin cancer. I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery. I can imagine DA yourself does make everything clean cut and so you know where you stand. Im just going to keep things low key for a while and see what happens.

I find it laughable that a lot of JW's think its all made up lies or apostates spreading lies. A lot still don't even know about the Austrailian Commission (well in the UK that is). It's very sad that they are still blinded by it all. I'm not sure which GB member it was who said in the broadcast that it was apostate lies, that really took me aback that they still blatantly deny they have a problem and lie about it! Disgusting -

That's a good idea Giordana about going out somewhere else to share the experience. Thank you -

Life is good...
by Theburstbubble inevening all, a few of you may remember my turmoil in leaving the wt well i'm happy to say i've finally moved on.
we celebrated our daughters birthday for the first time ever with a few close friends and it was magical.
our daughter loved it!

Well our friends leaving was a shock to everyone. They were seemingly very devout but in reality they were just going through the motions. I think us leaving gave them a 'now or never' moment and I'm so glad they chose 'now' 😊 -

Thanks everyone for your comments. Although I live out of the territory, the witnesses from my congregation clean our streets Windows so if I did anything it would be seen. I'll just see how things go. The reason I don't want to be DF is because my mum is still a JW and it would break her heart for me to be DF. She's in her 70's now bless her so I'd rather keep things nice for her. It's a crazy religion though, my mum was telling me someone from her congregation is getting baptised at the weekend who is 12 years old. How can a 12 year old make a choice to sign up to a religion like this, they have no idea of the implications poor thing. They haven't even hit puberty yet! It's a contradiction as they say we don't get baptised as babies so we are mature but then they still baptise kids anyway! Sorry, rant over.
