On a wall in the Stanley Theater was a picture of a goat.
We removed the tiles that made up his horns and beard. Shazam! Captain Marvel!
And just like that, the old billy goat became a sheep!

Who Pays The Ferryman....?
by hillary_step infrench philosopher blaise pascal once noted, "men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction.
" a case study for this statement can clearly be evidenced by the governing body of jehovahs witnesses.. the gb present themselves as lovers of truth and righteousness who are the only persons on this planet who speak for god.
this doctrine is at the very core of the beliefs of jehovahs witnesses and is one of the few that cannot be rationalized away by wts apologists.

"Death by Disfellowshipping - Let me offer the GB a challenge, especially given that they herald themselves self-confessed lovers of Truth?. Why not publish in the Yearbook for 2003, the statistical figures for those who have killed themselves due to having been disfellowshipped. A disciplinary procedure that is so open to interpretation that each decade the WTS changes its policy on how to treat such persons. They have used as an offensive weapon the most natural right that belongs to people, that of the expecting the love and loyalty of a family."
The Watchtower seems to think that shunning causes people to come back. Here is the question: Is that the proper motivation for a return?
Would you want your child to return to you just so that they could speak and associate with the other children?
Those who testify that shunning caused them to return, seems to me, is an improper and selfish motive.
For everyone who says that shunning helps, there are thousands who have been harmed and hurt by it.
That alone shows that it is unscriptural.

A MARGINAL NOTE COST HIM HIS LIFE
"In those days the most prolific printer of Dutch-language Bibles was Jacob van Liesvelt. Van Liesvelts final Dutch edition, of 1542,contained woodcuts and new marginal notes. For instance, next to Matthew4:3, a woodcut pictured the Devil as a bearded monk with a rosary and goats feet. However, it was the marginal notes in particular that aroused theire of the Catholic Church. One notewhich read "Salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone"was used as a basis for condemning Van Liesvelt to death.
He was beheaded in Antwerp in 1545." (9/8/02 Awake!)
Do you know anyone today that would do such a thing?
Do you know anyone today that would charge him with "causing divisions?"
Do you know anyone today that wont allow a person to "harbor private ideas when itcomes to Bible understanding?"
Do you know anyone that will behead (metaphorically speaking) all who arouse their ire?

JAH REASONS WITH DICTATORS OF SODOM
by You Know inpeter once wrote concerning paul's writings, saying: "in them, however, are some things hard to understand" that being the case, it is understandable why jehovah opened his long-running dialogue with israel, through isaiah, by saying: "my own people have not behaved understandingly.
" further, in that 1st chapter, at verse 10, jehovah addresses the leaders of his people saying: "hear the word of jehovah, you dictators of sodom.
give ear to the law of our god, you people of gomorrah.

JW Judicial Hearings vs. the US Judicial System
by Farkel inthis is the text of a debate i had almost four years ago with a jw by the name of "friend.
" after this debate he and i actually became friends, but during this debate, things were quite ferocious!.
if nothing else, this rather lengthy essay shows just how unfair, biased and backward the jw judicial system actually is.. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

Farkel,
Thanks for keeping things in focus.
You mentioned: " I wrote a huge essay several years ago on this matter, you assoles, and I compared the Flock Book and the US Constitution, and I'll tell you what: in a dub JC you have NO rights. A dub JC is more like a Grand Jury investigation, but the only difference is in a dub JC the sentence is passed. In the Grand Jury investigation, the defendent has the further right to a real trial."
Would you be willing to post that composition again?
Thanks.
