"The Black Lace Party Album" is quality, "Superman" and "Agadoo" are timeless classics. Other than that, "The Osmonds Greatest Hits" is something that is constantly spinning in my CD player. More recently, the excellent "Justified" by "Justin Timberlake" is something that I would wholeheartedly recommend. But at the end of the day, as a true Christian, I love to sit back and enjoy Hank Marvin's skilful interpretations of recent pop hits as well as the wonderful soothing "Kingdom Melodies". I have recently become a big fan of Prince, and love his new album, but I don't like his old stuff - you know, that Sexy Mother F*cker nonsense.

the B part
by ChrisVance inlooking back it seems hysterical that during the watchtower and bookstudy one had to be careful not to answer the b part until after the conductor asked the question.
just another example of how structured everything is in that cult.
"let everything take place by arrangement" to the nth degree.

Never mind all those a's and b's, what gets on my nerves are those questions within questions - the ones that are split into loads of sub questions!
Now, what part are you supposed to answer, most of it, or just a bit of it, two parts, three, or just summarise it all, leave the easy part to the kids and just answer the more difficult part, or cover it all, should you leave some of it open for further answers and if so what significance would it have to the way you are thought of in the congregation, would you be thought of as greedy if you answered too much, or would you be thought of as spiritual and knowledgeable?

Center Parc Meeting Point Condemned by JWs Elders....
by nightwarrior inwell maybe many in the us have not had the pleasure of the center parcs.
vacations.
sub tropical, scantily clad people.. but here in the uk and europe... we know all about them,...... especially if you are a jw.... once a year, in fact the week just before xmas, the jws descend in hordes on the different center park locations dotted around the uk - eg - sherwood and elvedon.. well if you want to see jws have a good time, book now!

Whoa, I knew all about the CenterParcs thing and Witnesses but I didn't know about all that, if I did perhaps I wouldn't have refused to go all the time! Even when I was a faithful dub I wouldn't go on holiday with other Witnesses because even on congregation days out you have to be continually on your toes worrying about stumbling people!

r the jws increasely desperate 4 converts,do u think?.
i f so ,they might attract the wrong sort of crowd!

Agreed elumn8 - excellent points as usual Francois.
Badboy, I understand that you have never been a Witness. Do you appreciate the motivation Witnesses have for obtaining new recruits? I can only speak for myself by saying that I GENUINELY believed that Armageddon was around the corner, I GENUINELY wanted everyone to be a Jehovah's Witness so that they could be saved and live in a paradise earth. It's a simple as that - to say I was desperate for recruits is accurate, but to imply anything sinister in the mind of individual Witnesses would be missing the point.
Do they accept the wrong sort of crowd? It depends what you mean by "wrong sort", but if you mean people that subsequently create problems within the congregation, then yes. Many new people that come along have got big problems. People from the smart end of town are generally not interested, as they already have their paradise, but many others with specific troubles in their lives would find the Witness religion attractive to them. People who have been rejected by society and see the Witnesses as an oasis of love. They could be mentally ill, they could be handicapped in other ways - they could be an asylum seeker who feels lonely in a strange country, they could be someone who has a criminal background and finding it hard to start over. They could be a single mum on income support with many children. All these people are prime targets for Witnesses, but could be described as "the wrong sort".

I had a crappy day today- this helped...
by termite 35 ina friend texted this to me today.... a man took his wife to the doctor to be checked out as she was feeling unwell.
after examining her he took the husband to one side and sighed, ' i'm afraid it's very serious; your wife has either aids or alzheimers .. ' that's terrible ' exclaimed the man, 'but how will i know which one she's got?'.
' oh, that's easy enough sir, just put her on a bus and if she comes home, don't shag her'

Everyone, excepting the legal world here in middle America, uses it.
It's the same over here in Britain. Everybody tends to use Microsoft (spits) Word except the legal profession who always use Corel Wordperfect. -

Yes, it's making the news again because it has just come to court. Here's another report of the same incident I spotted:
Man Admits Stabbing Teen Who Rebuffed His Sexual Advances
PATERSON, N.J. -- A man who stabbed his 16-year-old friend to death because the boy rebuffed his sexual advances has pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter.
Cole Dykstra, 26, entered the plea Monday as part of a deal with the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. It calls for him to receive a 28-year prison term when he is sentenced later this year.
Dykstra admitted killing Arthur Trussell, whose family had offered him a place to stay while he tried to resolve some personal problems. Trussell's father, Terrence, said his family opposed the deal, hoping that Dykstra instead would be tried for or plead guilty to murder.
The family met Dykstra through the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in West Milford, and he lived in their Ringwood home for almost a year before the attack occurred on Aug. 6, 2001.
Arthur Trussell had gone out with a girl that night and was sleeping when Dykstra hit him on the head with a beer bottle and stabbed him in the stomach with an 8-inch kitchen knife. Trussell's body was found by his father and brother after Dykstra stole the family car and drove off, but he later turned himself in to authorities. -

According to this old post, both the killer and the victim were Jehovah's Witnesses.
