the reason i ask is i know my father possibly visited them and would like to see if i could find what he wrote about.
he always talked about a lot of the issues discussed here, but no one in the family would listen to him.
i've done a lot of googling but can't seem to locate anything.. he died in 1999. it's a long shot but it doesn't hurt to try.
It’s very likely he posted on the newsgroup alt.religion.jehovahs-witn. That was around many years before this forum started. Look at google groups (http://groups.google.com/) to search the archive.

who are these people and why are they essentially allowed to spam on this site?
my response to them was that i feel their message is as offensive as jws bringing their crap to my door (which they cannot do because i live in a gated community), completely unacceptable, offensive and annoying!.
Jah Witnesses, Christian Witnesses... there are loads of splinter groups out there - they are all just plain barmy and love to spam ex-Jehovah's Witnesses boards, trying to get you to buy their books and pamphlets.

just saw the movie v for vendetta, about a totalitarian government in the near-future england.
somehow it reminded me of the wtbts, in that whenever something happened, they would have the media "spin" it to cast events in the best light for the government, and the worst for whoever else might be involved.
anyone opposed to the government was automatically a criminal, terrorist, etc.
Just saw it tonight. Amazing movie, me and Spice both loved it! It's interesting that they chose John Hurt in the Chancellor role - he was the hero in the movie 1984 but quite the opposite in V for Vendetta.
i am a pastor in the san diego area (la mesa).
we have scheduled a four-week session utilizing the dvd "understanding jehovah's witnesses" that is put out by the s. baptists.
i will also augment the sessions with my input as well as open-ended discussion from everyone.
