Does anyone know why they don't eulogize? I've always wondered that. Where is the harm in remembering a person's life, their character, speaking out about the love you had/have for them? How does the society defend the lack of a eulogy?

Funeral etiquette - Is crying allowed or seen as a lack of faith?
by usualusername ini have been to a few funerals and recalled that at many the cloest family members did not cry.. .
ok cultures and a number of factors may explain that, but could crying mean you don't believe in the resurrection?.
is it social compliance?.

Question for Dogpatch (Randy): What will it cost to produce the new 16-page Watchtower & Awake?
by Alfred inwhen literature used to be sold d2d, i remember how the society never missed an opportunity to trash other religions for "peddling god's word for profit" while boasting about how the watchtower only charges for the cost of the paper and ink.. in the book "witnesses of jehovah", the author mentioned that randall watters used to be involved in print cost analysis and determined that, while we were selling wt & awake mags for 20 cents door-to-door, it was really only costing the society 4 cents per copy to produce.
that's a whopping 400% profit!.
obviously, things have changed... the paper is different, as well as the ink and printing methods in general.

So who is benefiting from all this money? Where is it going? I don't see GB members in mansions and stuff. I really want to know who is getting the bankroll from the profits these guys are making.

I wonder if Estes is the mole. And I'm not sure I'm sold on the idea that Brody called Estes to report his affair with Carrie and her "harassment". I think they have her apartment bugged. Guess we'll find out next week!

Out Of All JW Beliefs Which Is The Weirdest?

That all holidays are pagan but you can still have the pagan wedding with bridesmaids and grooms. And even though Hannkkah is straight from the OT, JW's don't celebrate it even though Jesus did because the old laws were ousted by Jesus' coming BUT they keep enforcing OT rules in modern times.

Oh, and the idea that you shouldn't miss a single meeting because what if something was said from the GB about the Great Tribulation and instructions on where to go next was given in that ONE meeting you missed.

You rock George. That was an awesome thing to do. I asked an old lady if I could help her with her huge bags at the grocery store recently but she looked at me scared, like I was going to murder her and steal her Chrysler.
You know what irks me? When you ask questions about all of these things above and you get the "Must have faith" line or "if you keep up this type of talk, you'll be labeled as an apostate" line. Or the almighty "wait on the organization/Jehovah" line.

I love how they say that there are no "lesser" sins and that all sins are created equal but, yet, masturbation is a sin but not to the same degree as fornication.

I love how the put emphasis on the word "deaden" with the inapporpriately cited scripture explaining why you shouldn't masterbate. That scripture has NOTHING to do with masterbation but since they italized "deaden" it must mean the urge to masterbate.
And nice addition with the "When was Jeruselam Destroyed" article. They've been running those articles quite a bit now. Seems to me that people aren't really convinced if they feel the need to hover over that topic.
