I too feel like you describe. With time I have found that once again I no longer fear death. One thing is for certain in life " we will die". Whats beyond that I and everyone is yet to find out. I am no longer going to waste my life worrying about what may have been or what is out there after death.
Each day is a new beginning and journey for me now. A journey of learning and discovering myself and family and friends around me. A journey discovering more about the awsomeness of life the universe and our part in it.

It probably doesn't. Another misapplication of the scriptures by the experts the WTBTS? I think it really applied to concetrating on spiritual matters as opposed to fleshly. Its very similiar to where the apostle Paul talks about putting on the new personality. I think it is in a figutative sense not literal.I don't have access to a bible right now (not at home) sp I wouuld be curious to here the thoughts on others regarding the application.

When I got involved with a non witness and started a sexual relationship the guilt was such a burden that I found I coouldn't enjoy sex. It affected my ability to be satisfied in the normal ways.
I see the application of such scriptures a form of verbal abuse.
Interestingly when we think about it the reason Jesus died for us is to take away the guilt that had burdened the Jews. He was a willing scape goat yet most well all religions today take back that sacrafice and inflict guilt upon us.
Religion is verbal abuse. It sullies our natural sexual desires. It abuses us and feeds off this guilt.
I agree sex is a celebration of loving some one intimately and a gift we can give to someone we love. -

I believe I don't have an abnormally low sex drive . I really feel that I was still practising that scripture subconsciously.
Its like it had been sitting dormant for years and now that I am aware of it I am practising thinking about it. It seems to be working -

I recently read a post on the net regarding how often men think about sex. I started to think about how often I did. I followed this up with a survey on antoher site and found I ranked low and they told me I had sexual problems. I disagree.
Now I was a single sister for 7 years in the truth. A wiitness for 10 years and a firm believer for a further 10. When I pondered on this question to myself I realised I did not think about sex. When it entered my head I pushed it out.
Now this is not a joke and I will not apreciate any innuendo's. What I had discovered was I was still practising the 'Deaden your body members' scripture single brothers and sisters are taught.
Any thoughts on this?Edited by - maxee on 27 December 2000 2:27:28

Have the faithful and discreet slave confused Jewish kosher laws which forbid the drinking of animal blood (Leviticus 7:26) with the medical practice of human blood transfusion?

A) None. ( please scripturally prove otherwise if you think you can )*the friend/xandit “enlightenment” on property acquisition procedures of a New York based book publishing company – the WTBTS.
Not a publishing companyAfter reading the thread "WT IN USED CAR BSNS", and folloing the link to Circuit Leasing.com, I still thought it was some kind of joke. So I decided to call the phone # listed on the website. Sure enough, a receptionist answered,
"Circuit Leasing, my name is -----, how may I help you?"I said I had visited their website and wondered what the "No Blood" keyring was about.
She replied "If you visited our website, you know what it's about"

Drugs....why?
by Tigger inim new here, so go easy with me!
just wanted to know if any one has any idea's or personal experience in regard to drug and alcohol abuse in former jw's.
all the one's i know have just lost the plot when it comes drugs and alcohol, especially drug use.

Hi Tigger
How long have you been in the truth?IMHO all of us always feel like we have to say sorry for anything we think or do.I believe that goes for persecution complexs too. Drug abuse as far as ex-witness goes would be a form of the individual blocking out the guilt the organisation and Jehovah puts on them. It may not apply to all.How can you say I know? I have experienced it. Thats how I felt.
One thing we can learn is we are all different and cope with things individually the common thread being the nature or conditioning we have in our choices of dealing with leaving the WTBTS.Whats the forbiddon? Is it actually giving 'mankind'
those not following faithful and discreets slave direction
the benfit of the doubt that they may be nice people and may even display a truer christian love than those we call brothers.Sometimes it may just be we are genetically prone to this form of abuse. If you have a drug problem and are asking this question that really is the first step in sorting things out within you.
Welcome aboard
