The solution is simple. Contact the media and tell all your friends to do the same. My daughter was abused from the age of nine until she was 13 years old. My idiotic wife left me because I quit this cult. I realize now that it's time for some people to die. I'll just bide my time. Perhaps Bethel will suffer a tragedy like 9-11. Wouldn't that be just too bad??

love letters were the demise for many of the kids in congregations that i attended growing up..... i know i ended up in the library/back room several times for this (hopless romantic/ sagitarius) even put on public reproof for it.
(though i believe it was my dad's idea to have the elders put me on public reproof so that he could have more control over me).

I'm sorry about the beating and the hair getting cut. These people are lunatics. You might have not known exactly what to make of it, but legally and morally, it was child abuse to do that to you. Child services should have been called by the school and your parents arrested and committed to a mental hospital. If I hear of one more JW child who has been mistreated (my daughter was raped at the age of nine until 13) I'm going to lose my famous Sicilian temper and take the father outside. And he's not coming back in.

This was freaking pathetic. When I got my degree in Psychology, I took a course on "Abnormal Psychology". I think four chapters in my textbook could have been devoted to this lying lunatic. Do they really believe that the world and maybe even other JW's don't see throught this crap?? Absolutely disgusting. They should have thrown his sorry ass in prison for perjury for 10 years. That might wake up the next "honest" JW who was thinking about lying in court. Where's that earthquake I keep hoping for to hit NYC?

When were the Watchtower's best moments?

This might sound strange, but my best moments concerning the WT were from about 1977 to 1980. I had studied on and off since 1971. But I came back strongly in early 1977, got baptized Dec. 1977 and married 2 weeks later. Things seemed more tolerant and Crisis of Conscience seems to indicate that Ray Franz's moderate approach to things produced a more relaxed mood. Everyone seemed happy, there were several couples (some with kids, some not) and we had picnics, played softball after meetings and had a blast. I guess we all figured that 1975 would be cleared up soon with a "reasonable" explanation.
Then in 1980, I was made a book study conductor and I noticed that the WT articles were getting more harsh and strict. Again, after reading C of C, I now know why. Everything fits after reading Ray's books. It's all so clear and obvious, I'm not surprised that the WT hates him so much.
I guess it has a lot to do with your own individual personal life at the time. I was newly married and being given many responsibilities. So I thought life was great and that the WT was great. Little did I know.

for the DF'd: did you confess or were you ratted out?
by kid-A inlooking back at the 10 or so cases of disfellowshipping i recall, i think only 1 was due to the orwellian borg spy system.
he was ratted out.. all the other cases were actually "confessions" by people that otherwise would have gotten away with it.
i am wondering is these percentages.

I faced a JC meeting after my wife and also a fellow teacher at the computer school where I worked told the elders I was reading Ray Franz's books. My wife left me and then they called the JC meeting. I was the brother's supervisor. At the meeting, the elders told me that he'd written to them TWO YEARS ago when I first told him casually I was reading the books. He never told me he wrote to them. I don't remember telling him about the books. What a coward. If he wasn't 6 feet 8 inches tall, I'd have punched his lights out.
The JC meeting took 3 consecutive Sundays of one hour apiece for those inept bozos to make up their minds. (Sorry, elders don't have minds.) After the second meeting, I told my wife on the phone that the whole thing was a "kangaroo court". She called the elders and told them what I said. The third meeting, the next day, they asked me if I said that. I don't remember saying it, so I said no. They said it was my word against hers so they couldn't do anything. But they reproved me because I acted repentant. I didn't want to be DF'd so that my 16 year old daughter would be forced to ignore me. As it turned out, she stopped having anything to do with me a few years later anyway. I have seen her once in 3 years. I also intimated to the JC that if I got DF'd, there would be some hurting going on. Of course, if I ever told them that now, they would have DF'd me just to show me I don't run things. I was only reproved. But I told them the deal still stands. Anyone doing anything that causes my daughter to ignore me for the rest of my life is going to get badly hurt. Sorry, but someone has to do something to wake these jackasses up sooner or later. I'm sick of the destruction to families and the suicides I see. If someone shot an elder for each person who committed suicide, the DF'ing would soon stop. Bible reason?? "A life for a life."
Elders are the biggest weasels in the world. And JW's who rat out a family member, especially a son or daughter, don't deserve to be parents. The sooner this sick cult is destroyed, the better. Maybe if someone prays to the Zodiac god, an asteroid will fall on Bethel. No loss.

HELP PROSECUTE THE PERPS...

for those who may not know, i am a civil attorney whose practice is limited to sexual molestation litigation.. at present, my firm represents a number of abuse survivors who were molested by those in authority in various jw congregations.
these cases are pending.. in the course of investigating the factual background related to the clients i represent, i have stumbled across a great number of reports of abuse within the context of jw congregations.

I can provide the following information. The man who molested my daughter was Patrick Marando. He used to live on Dow Avenue in Ocean Twp., Monmouth County, NJ. The congregations that knew he was a molester are Ocean-Asbury Park, Wayside, Long Branch North, Long Branch Central, Fair Haven, and Eatontown. His wife also knew he was a pervert. Many elders, and his wife Lynne, knew his history and that he was at my home. None warned us. He molested others after my daughter. He moved to Pine Beach, NJ, in Ocean County. I last heard he is trying to get reinstated somewhere in Ocean County. I don't have the congregation name, but am working on it. His son, PJ Marando, was a Ministerial Servant at the time and tried to get us to drop the charges, but the police said no and so did we. PJ is now an elder and he and many elders and pioneers shunned my daughter and called her a "lying whore". Monmouth County's congregations are rife with molestation cover-ups and many elders know about it. My family moved to the Hazlet or Middletown congregation in Middletown, Monmouth County, NJ. Those elders tried my in a judicial committee because I opposed 607 BCE and also how my daughter was treated. They did NOTHING to help convince my wife to move back with me after she had left 3 months before, taking my 16 year old daughter with her. I quit because of the hypocrisy and ill treatment.
I hope this information will help someone in the future. Many publishers in these congregations, after I told them what happened, said things like: "Oh, yeah, Pat, I can believe that." There were dozens of similar comments, leading me to believe that his molestation tendencies were already well known to many. When he was arrested and the article of what he did appeared in the newspaper, publishers called the local elders for verification on his identity. They were all told "No Comment". They were left on their own to wonder if he was the person in the newspaper. Fortunately, they published his address later, so everyone then knew. He had been DF'd in the past for adultery as well. His son's wife, Jennifer, also shunned my daughter and caused her extreme emotionaly stress. Please be aware that my wife told me that several of these congregations were split up and rearranged because of all the in-fighting concerning this case. Many believed my daughter but many did not. The two groups were not speaking, there was marking and other behavior. It caused quite a stir in the entire circuit.
I wrote a letter to the CO, "Brother DeSenti" (sp?), who ignored my request to help mend my family. His words were "it's not my week to handle your congregation". It WAS the week he was visiting the congregation where the abuse occurred. He lied. I never heard from him again. To all people in Monmouth and Ocean counties in NJ, I want to warn you that there is NO justice there and you will NOT be warned about any molesters in your midst.

I know this sounds a little extreme, but wouldn't it be quicker and more satisfying to just pour gasoline on the whole stinking pile and light it? Wood burns fast with gas on it, doesn't it? I'd sure love the smell...oh, I mean stench....of the WT burning to the ground.
