You have my sympathy, this sounds like my wife and circumstances. I could never love a woman who squealed on me for reading a book to see if our child's rape was a common occurrence in the WT. I have a degree in Psych. You have virtually no chance of having a healthy marriage with this woman. Any love you feel will have "strings" attached to it forever. I would fade, divorce her (after considering what's best for any children), and move on. If you stay with her, you'll hate yourself forever.

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but even the back scratching sounds familiar. She is using you and dictating the terms. You simply can't let that asshole elder treat you like that. God, I can't believe how F***ed up these people are. They all need to be in one large asylum. Call your wife's bluff. No sex, no affection, no meetings, no study. Did she love and marry YOU or a male JW? If she chooses the WT over you, then you have your answer. I loved my wife too, but lost respect for her and me when I tried to go back to the meetings after quitting when I discovered the child rape policies.

Maybe they are now starting to count dead publishers. After all, didn't "Rye"therford say that Russell was directing the work from heaven after he died? I think the Mormons marry or baptize dead people, so why not the WT? Nothing they ever do will surprise me again.

i have been in court three times in the past three weeks and will be in court this tuesday and next week as well.

so far i have collected $4200.

My donation is on its way to you. You are correct in that the more people AT ONE TIME who attack the WT, the greater the damage. In NYC, they CANNOT ignore this kind of attention. I lived near the city for 50 years. People already hate the WT for DUMBO and many other things. They are aware of the abuse scandal. By the way, Silent Lambs is up and running again. They also need money and even $5 will help Bill Bowen to keep the site running. I've volunteered my computer services and some money as well. This sick, child-raping cult MUST be destroyed ASAP. Every week that goes by, more children are molested. We can't shoot them in the streets, but we can sure as hell shoot them verbally.

It might be possible to distribute fliers for Shunned's crusade. People could also go door to door. So many people are sick of JW's knocking on their doors to sell the literature that it would surprise them so much to see that there is an active group people following in their wake to collect the literature back (sound familiar?) and to offer to burn it for the householder, who in most cases, didn't want it anyway. The public could also be warned about the abuse policy. I can't see the public being annoyed at such a warning. We could also offer to tell them that JW visits could stop if they only tell the publishers to remove them from the territory card. I know most of the public doesn't know this is possible.

I wish you the best, Shunned, and hope that you win. My family was also lost to me and I realize that the only way to find closure is to warn others and help to destroy the WT once and for all. They cannot possibly survive ten solid years of constant lawsuits. They are not THAT rich or clever. We outnumber them 1,000 to one. They have a superb organization. We don't at this time. But we are smarter than they are and they do NOT have any god on their side. I would welcome any opportunity to fight these perverts any way I can.

Good points, Terry. It is so sad that people who condemn the world for thinking a certain way, actually do it themselves far worse. I don't know if it's hypocrisy, because that entails knowing that you are doing it. I don't think that many of the rank and file really see how blind they are. It's the typical straw/rafter situation, but with the wrong people thinking they have the straw and/or the rafter. But the leaders at Bethel have to realize something. I hold them more responsible than the dubs. But as I said before, they ALL scream at the world, "Get out of her, my people.....". So they all bear the guilt.

Hondo: I'm sorry for your situation. The same thing happened to me. Well, somewhat. My wife was baptized in 1975 and I was in 1977. So I knew what I was getting involved with. After learning how the WT handles child abuse cases (my daughter was molested and they tried to cover it up), I researched all the web sites. I told her what I found and that I was quitting. She moved out soon after. This December would have been 29 years of marriage. I've seen my daughter once in 3 years. You have my sympathy. My only consolation is that I truly believe I'll live long enough to see the WT badly hurt or even destroyed. I wouldn't care how it was done, legally or otherwise. Individual JW's might be nice people, but so were rank and file Germans in WW2. But without them, Hitler would have been a nobody. So the dubs share in the blame, just as they say about us "get out of her my people if you do not want to share in her plagues". Fair is fair.

To 68storm: Since 1984 was mentioned, and I love this book, I thought I would quote one paragraph. A man (named Winston) who doubted the "Party's" (read WT) beliefs, had been caught and was undergoing some sort of deprogramming. A senior Party member was explaining to him why he, the rebel who asked questions, was wrong. He said:

"You are here because you have failed in humility, in self-discipline. You would not make the act of submission which is the price of sanity. You preferred to be a lunatic, a minority of one. Only the disciplined mind can see reality, Winston. You believe that reality is something objective, external, existing in its own right. You also believe that the nature of reality is self-evident. When you delude yourself into thinking that you see something, you assume that everyone else sees the same thing as you. But I tell you, Winston, that reality is not external. Reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else. Not in the individual mind, which can make mistakes, and in any case soon perishes: only in the mind of the Party, which is collective and immortal. Whatever the Party holds to be the truth, is truth. It is impossible to see reality without looking through the eyes of the Party. That is the fact that you have got to relearn, Winston. Forsher: Good point. You would think they'd welcome all the questions in the world. It would give them more chances to reply with their cult beliefs. Kind of putting more JW "karma" into the air, somehow to land and plant a seed. (Oh, sorry, seeds need fertilizer, there's always their manure.....).

Anyway, many good points made on this post. How can anyone fear questions if he thinks he has the truth?? I can't help thinking of the expression, "My mind is already made up, don't confuse me with the facts." Truly a sorry, sick, and ignorant group of people.
