ok..many of you read what happened..our house was egged and so was my sisters car that was parked here, and "frosty" was attacked!!

The WT badly needs to learn that they do NOT own the universe and they NEVER WILL!! Put it on You Tube and give it to the local media. I'm sure it will hit the fan at the local hall. And when the CO visits, he will surely have something to say.

One of the primary misconceptions with cults, especially the WT, is that they believe they are above the law because God is above Caesar's laws and they think they follow God's laws. They must learn that this is a legal matter, not a spiritual one, just the same as child abuse is. We don't give a damn if their microphone privileges are taken away from them. Let them spend 30 days in jail or pay a heavy fine and have their mug shots taken, fingerprints, the whole works. I wonder how funny they'd find it then.

Fry them good and use this for all it's worth, just the same as THEY would do if the roles were reversed. Whenever a KH is damaged, don't they make a big deal out of it? "An eye for an eye." And a "Frosty for a Frosty."

Excellent points, Anitar. They ARE children. Some of us who have left might have righteous indignation, but that's understandable when our family members were molested. But to destroy the property of others is totally uncalled for and childish. Do they really think they "won" because they wrecked one person's display? Would God or Jesus be happy with their actions? Those are points they should consider.

I pity them because I know they are so insecure that they feel compelled to engage in this "holy war" all the time. They are no different than the terrorists. And if they did celebrate anything, and a non-JW destroyed it, they'd be screaming "persecution" at the top of their lungs. But worldly people can't say that to the JW's because according to them, they deserved it because they are "pagan".

You JW lurkers: Do you think your conduct brings praise to God? Did Jesus smash everything that wasn't pleasing to him? All you do when you act this way is continue to convince the world that you DO NOT have the truth and that you are a bunch of crackpots. Really, killing Frosty the Snowman and throwing eggs. Wow, that was such an intellectual position to take concerning the holidays. Such maturity!

You can mail a copy of the police report to the local newspaper. Many editors dislike JW's anyway. You could also send copies to your neighbors. That might cause some trouble for the JW's next time they go door to door.

If it's possible, an eye for an eye is scripturally fair. Do what you have to do. I'm sure they won't go as far as you could. I know they won't go as far as I would go in order to teach them a lesson.

It's sad when "perfect people" act this way. What are they afraid of, that they might be wrong? They are cowardly punks.

the door to door work is a sham.. the central activity of the watchtower bible and tract society is not spreading their so-called "messege" about the kingdom of jehovah established in the heavens in 1914. that's a load of propaganda.. the door to door activity is feckless in producing converts.

in fact, it is an immense failure of mammoth proportions!.

but, it is a diversion.

No matter how they live, I still wish they would open some soup kitchens and do more charity work. They offer the literature, but people can't pay their bills or get food using the books.

My dictionary says that a lie is a false statement or untruth told by someone who KNOWS it's wrong. If you don't know it's wrong, it's still a mistake, but not a lie. The distinction seems to be with the intent or the knowledge of the fact being wrong by the one telling it.

If I say 2+2=5 and honestly believe it, I'm not lying. I'm wrong (and a poor mathematician), but I meant well. If the WT says 2+2=5 and fully knows that it is four, then they are lying. Since this is usually the case with the WT, they are liars.

The child abuse issue alone makes them the biggest liars in the world. When must of us went door to door and told people about 1914, we thought it was the truth. But the GB knew that 607 BCE was wrong, so 1914 had to be wrong and they knew it. So they are liars.

After so many hundreds of lies, how does anyone stay a JW? The rank and file feel that Jehovah will take care of it "in his own due time". I guess lies don't bother God much, since he uses a religion so good at telling them. If I were God, I'd think I'd be concerned about the fact that the entire world didn't know beans about me because the WT had been misleading the world for 130 years. I mean, how many decades does a God wait to clear his name?

How can a God kill six billion people for being wrong when they've been lied to all those years? I don't understand. Oh, wait. I just have to read more WT publications. Then I'll know the real "truth".

I will at least give the GB this much, they don't live in luxury. Aside from Rutherford's San Diego "resurrection time machine" (walk through the front door dead, come out the back door as "David") I don't see many yachts and expensive vacations, unless I've missed something. They do buy quality items. I visited Bethel once and gave a small piano concert in the lobby. The piano was a good one.

I don't see the purpose of expanding any building projects. Isn't the end close? Why waste the money. Isn't this the reason they told us not to go to college, so "Armageddon wouldn't catch you in your senior year"? Why would they expect that all their current building will survive Armageddon or any social conflicts before?

The preaching work is a joke. How many millions of hours are spent to make a convert? Not counting family? Why aren't they on the internet with email, discussion groups, online Bible studies, etc. Why no TV commercials? They used to have a radio station on Staten Island, I saw it myself. How will they reach Bangladesh and India? Aren't those people just as worthy to be saved? Why repeatedly cover the same blocks in town here in the US when it's plain that no one wants them to visit? How many of us found converts door to door? I wasn't found that way.

Well, I don't have 3 hours to ask more questions, so I'll leave it at that. My best to all. Happy New Year.

JWs in Field Service Today--Christmas.

i guess the local kh is doing a special field service outing today, which my wife will be a part of...on christmas morning.

i think this is intrusive and disrespectful.. did any of you do fs on christmas?.

is this a common thing among jws?

To Steve2: I liked your comment. But I seem to recall that many or most of the GB (Golden Boys, Gestapo Bullies, etc. ) did not go out in service that often. No doubt they were too "important" and had books to write, whiskey to drink, and games to play (pin the tail on the donkey). At least they had enough players in one room since they were all qualified. I don't understand how they feel they're setting a good example. It's the same when elders give all those talks at the meeting, then don't show up on Sat./Sun. JW's are dumb in many areas, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist for the R & F to realize that some elders have skipped on home after passing out territory. They often had a "study" to take care of (as in study the donuts and which coffee to get at Dunkin' Donuts).

In the end, I don't see the public wanting JW's at their door on Christmas. Another funny one is New Year's Day. Instead of meeting at 9 am, they graciously make it 10 am. I'm sorry, but most people I know who celebrated till past midnight are not going to be ready to talk to JW's even an hour later than usual. The JW's should start at 3 pm if they want to be practical. But in any case, no one wants them there on their day off.

I went out when I was a new book study conductor because I had to take my group out, and there would always be a few die-hards. But I thought it in bad taste and useless. No one bought the "let's think about what Jesus is doing today since you are celebrating his birth now" sound bite. I stopped after a year or two. No JW I know ever got anywhere on Christmas.

An abuse victim posted today on Silent Lambs that JW's came to her door on Christmas and she pinned the JW down about child abuse. The response makes her post worth reading.

In the end, nearly all people know Christmas isn't exactly accurate in some respects, whether it's the date, the commercialization, or whatever. But most people are good people and trying to be extra nice one day out of the year. They don't want the mood ruined by being told they are wrong and if the JW continues, it being implied that they will die at Armageddon even MORE for celebrating Christmas than if they hadn't. I think JW's should give themselves a day off and stay home.
