geevee: No, I didn't see it unless it's on those tapes from SL. I'll check on it. He really WAS so snotty I couldn't believe they'd let him even be a publisher, much less an elder. They must be hard up for elders if his idea of manners and love is okay with the WT. Thanks again.

What Do YOU Think Is The BIGGEST Revelation That Has Gotten JWs Exposed???
by minimus infor me, it was the un debacle.
their association and weak retreat was priceless.
after that, silentlambs ranks right up there.. of course, if it were not for ray franz, many of us would've never even thought about leaving!.

My wife has finally seen the light.
by Ironhead infor 18 months i have been at loggerheads with my wife over the wts.
she has been the perfect watchtower slave even declaring that she'll never leave the truth.
i decided not to interfere in her life, attacking the society, and the idiots in the hall, but recently things have changed for the best.

To Ironhead: (Funny, that should be the name of someone still IN the WT)
I'm very happy for you. If you can get her to bottle whatever helped her, I'll pay $100,000 for it and give it to my wife. Then maybe I'll get her back and also my daughter.
Again, my best to you. This shows the issue very clearly. Did you love your mate and marry HIM/HER? Or did you love someone on the condition that their brain stay programmed in Windows 95. People, we moved on. Windows crashes so we use newer and better software. As the WT changes, people need to reprogram their brains.
If you are ever near the Space Center, email me and we'll go have a drink to celebrate. If you'll be here during a shuttle launch, we'll watch it from my dock.

THE HAPPY FACTOR
by Dogpatch inhere's a question that i haven't seen addressed directly:.
why are there many witnesses who enjoy the organization immensely?.
no matter what you tell them, they would not dream of leaving.

To ABR: I liked your analogy. Very appropriate. Same level of IQ, education, and knowledge. Same material composition.
It really does matter how you view it all. So many millions just do not know any better. The sadness and irony is that they believe they do, that we don't, and that we should die for our error. We don't wish the rank and file dead just because they are JW's, so why do they wish us dead?
I guess the warning Jesus gave about being careful about judging people doesn't matter them. Yet I thought they knew every scripture and the correct understanding.

I saw the elder in Australia being snotty to the reporter. I think he was the one who looked like W.C.Fields (nose and all) and wouldn't answer the reporter. When the reporter repeated the question, the elder said something like, "What are you, hearing (or learning) impaired?" Talk about impairment!! The typical elder is a high school graduate at best and what little brains they have are programmed by the WT software corporation. He knew he was wrong, he knew the WT was wrong, he knew the WT was guilty, etc. Why can't these "pillars", these "rocky crags" of protection, these "princes" in the new system show some manhood and courage and admit the truth?? Why the snotty and UNLOVING comments to the press and the media?? Do they think they are tough? If I were a reporter and ANY JW pushed my camera away or touched it at all, he'd be taking a trip to the ER.
I'm not known for my patience and I admit to having a temper when it comes to the slimeballs at Bethel. So, bring it on! How many children have been kicked, tied down and whipped to death (literally) and beaten up?? These people are sick and perverted. I don't go looking for trouble, but if any JW EVER starts anything, he won't finish it. You can take that to the bank.
To answer the question, their lack of love. Jesus would NOT shove people around who questioned him. In fact, while on trial, most of the time he never spoke a word. He showed NO arrogance and tolerated abuse that most of us wouldn't even allow. I saw Jaracz on tape at that convention. He was definitely rude and arrogant. Even the woman (his wife maybe?) with him had a look of contempt on her face. I wonder how cute these people will be acting when they are caught and put in prison.
A question for anyone who wants to answer: What was your first impression the very first time you ever encountered a JW? Just curious. Thank you and my best to all.

The UN is up high on the list. For years, the UN was the "whore of Babylon" and now we see the WT climb right up there with her, grab tight around her body (let the reader use discernment, don't want to fall off now, do we?) share some wine of fornication, grab her some more, kiss a little, snuggle and cuddle, and then when someone sees them, they jump off, wipe off the lipstick and perfume, get tested for STD's and say "I never touched her. I was just checking her ID to see if she was legal to ride a wild beast at her age." Yeah, right. They should check to see if she got pregnant, too. RIGHT, WT GUYS??????
The outright lies about 607 was another thing, just to preserve 1914.
Ray Franz was a biggie. As an author, I can say that his book was a masterpiece. No meanness, very well written, thorough, reasonable and many more good things. Then read a WT article and compare the third grade sentence structure, the venom, the lies, twisting of logic, and all the rest. The WT just as well should write their literature in crayons since that is their level of scholastic knowledge.
And of course, the child abuse scandal. As the father of a victim who might die anytime due to this, I have to say that this is the worst part of their crimes. I literally could kill every GB member without a second thought and get a good night's sleep afterward. The WT is the only organization that I know of, and a religious one at that, that was allowed to become a corporation mostly comprised of mental defectives, perverts, liars, psychopaths, and Nazis. A real shame.

I think in a way some aspects have been discussed before. There is always that "elitist, special" group that a JW now belongs to. Not to say they are necessarily mean or arrogant, but there is a certain comfort in being unique or in an exclusive club, for example, "I'm in Mensa and most people aren't" or "I'm saved and you're not". There is also that factor of revenge whereas I've heard many JW's say, "Now the world will pay for how they treated us (read ME) all these years. I may be corny, a dork, ugly, fat, stupid, whatever, but God says I'm better than the successful people and I'm going to live and get "fixed" and all the beautiful people will die". I've seen this often in my psych field.
Others are just too comfortable to change or think, for that matter. They cannot stop outside the box and say "what if this isn't the truth"? It's not possible for them emotionally to take that step. Those who have belonged for decades have too much invested: money, time, pride, ego, the works. To admit now that they were wrong and wasted their lives and possessions is more than they can bear. So they stay.
Some are old and sick. They will die soon and what could be better than to wake up feeling and looking like Superman and living forever?
But the bottom line is that most JW's are miserable, and they can't hide it. And now that people have quit and are doing well and are happy and lightning hasn't struck them dead, some JW's begin to wonder if they shouldn't quit also.
There are many more things that could be considered, but these cover a ton of ideas.

Installment # 3 - The Indoctrination of Certainty
by AK - Jeff inour little town of 600 people was but a dot on the map.
but that year was great.
i saw great mountains, camped at elevation, redwoods, tasted pomegranates and olives from the trees they grew on, dodged black widows, explored and conquered the streets of a little town named patterson.

I hadn't heard about this "keeping the body after death" thing before. What did the WT do with them? One idea: Maybe as they were evolving (sorry, dirty word) their policies on organ transplants, they used the body parts from dead people to transplant into Bethelites or GB members (God, look how long Franz lived, maybe he's half body parts from younger people, probably a few from women, that's a whole other story). Then they would see if that person still could attend all the meetings, go out in service, and someday become an elder. If they succeeded, then they approved organ transplants, right?
I guess they had to do this slowly. Start with corneas, ears, easy stuff. The heart and brain wouldn't work because once a typical JW died, he was happy to be out of his misery, so if they transplanted his brain into a GB member who was losing it, he would then wake up and want to quit. I think they're now working on the heart and blood. That's why the rules keep changing.

Why does the great crowd go to memorial?
by *jeremiah* in"do this in remembrance of me"...... ...those words jesus utters,..according to the wt,...is specifically for "the annointed",...right?.
if jesus at the last supper is speaking directly to "the annointed class",...that they should parttake and "do this in remembrance",...then why do the r & f even go to the memorial?.
looking at it through jw eyes,...jesus didn't invite members of "great crowd" to the last supper,...right?

Has anyone ever gotten to take the wine home? One possible benefit, but at great cost (unless you drank some during the meeting).

Blondie, thanks for the info. I think that's what the old sister meant. She was hard to understand so I never quite got her point. Our hall didn't have books that far back so I couldn't check on it. My best to all. Happy Easter. (Or whatever your holiday is coming up.)
