  Bonsai I got to see the old man back in the late 70's when my ex and I visited New England. I was sad when it collapsed. At least it was remembered on your state's quarter.

  How to handle invites to dinner after Sunday meeting?

  i have not been to a meeting for over a year.

  yesterday, when my wife returned from the 1 day assembly, i got an invite for dinner next sunday.

  i said i would think about it, to be honest, as nice as the people are, it would just be boring listening to their comments about everything jw.

  Oh man, truthseeker is that the "we're jehovah's witnesses" one? Just shoot me, now it's in my brain!😤 gotta go listen to some Gordon Lightfoot to get that outta my head!! Do they still have the one that sounded like a Hawaiian melody? That always made us want to do the hula.

  Karter good for you!! Was born 2 years too late to see last time my beloved, albeit lousy, Cleveland Indians won the World Series. Planning on many more years, but don't think it will happen in my life time.

  What more do they need to see?

  so bethelites are being decreased...bethel homes even sold off.... special pioneers no longer being funded.. magazines getting smaller and published less frequently.. building work stopping or being reduced.. no large conventions and renting of venues.. etc.... so, money is not coming in anymore to cover the "expenses"??.

  didnt the first ever watchtower said that when this occurs, it would be evidence of god no longer blessing the activity....

  oh, and throughout the years, we have constantly been told that the "growth of the org and the projects such as buildings and contributions" etc were evidence of gods blessing.... .

  I ask myself this all the time and wonder WTF is wrong with my seemingly intelligent relatives. And these are ones who are in their 60's and some reaching 70 now so we were around during the 1975 hoopla. Our parents are all gone now, you know, the ones who weren't supposed to grow old and die, and now we are all growing old. I just don't know. Will they just go on until they are dead too or will there be one really big incident that is so "out there" that it will cause a mass awakening, because all these other things, one after another sure ain't doing it!
