Very Offensive Statement Directed To JW Parents-Watchtower 4/15/2015 Page 11 Paragraph 9
by JW GoneBad inwt is insinuating, worse yet, blaming senior jw parents for there not being more younger brothers reaching out to be ministerial servants and elders.
page 11 paragraph 9 reads as follows: .
"elders in affluent lands may face an added challenge: how to motivate baptized brothers in their 20s or 30s to get involved in congregation activities.

And the "senior" parents of these 20 and 30 somethings are the generation who grew up in the 60's and 70's who were told not to get any higher education because this old system wouldn't be around long enough for them to finish. Now these same "senior" parents are facing retirement with no real savings from working menial jobs. Perhaps they didn't want the same uncertain future to befall their children so they encouraged them to do more than sell magazines door to door.. I know in my own family, 2 of my cousins (both elders) have kids who went to college. And pleeeease, adults do what they want, in the real world you don't tell adult children what to do or make decisions about their higher education. The society acts as though you dictate to your children all their lives. Some just aren't cut out to be drones! -

There are cases out there like azor, a parent now out of the cult who is grateful the courts stepped in. Does anyone know for a fact of an instance of a now adult person who was given blood as a child by court order, and whose parents are still in and the child given the transfusion is now out? Sorry if that sounds confusing. Anyway, just wonder how that would strain a parent-child relationship. Or if the child is still in, are they secretly happy for the court's intervention. -

Simon, Oui monsieur, but I do love Canada. One of the few times I enjoyed a convention was back in the 70's, we went to one in Ottawa. Of course I loved the sightseeing more than the sessions! -

New (non)-Witnessing Model
by berrygerry inso, one of the kids on reddit posted this video - an evangelist trying to witness to guardians of the cart.
(both sides are fairly respectful imo).

Yeah, the point is that the JW was unwilling and unprepared to answer a basic question on Christian doctrine. If people start quoting scriptures to them they are taken by surprise. -

I watch a lot of the BBC programs on PBS and it really helps to have closed captioning on. I love some of the words like lift for elevator but don't dare tell a woman in the US that you would be happy to knock her up! Please, not all Americans eat McDonalds. We may smell like freedom but at least we don't smell like unwashed bodies and garlic. -

I think this was pretty sad. Just like when I went to the KH, I never felt ANY comfort in that atmosphere. The cart guy didnt know squat. "Not here to talk about the Bible"? Really? The old timers would be ashamed of this. The guy on the street gave a much more comforting and intelligent answer to his own question. Yeah, not there to talk about the Bible, there to push a website. -

Paraplegic JW example used at assemblies
by Alfred init seems like every time our circuit failed to meet the field service goals set by our co, the very next circuit assembly would invariably include a talk that mentions a chronically ill paraplegic sister who would dial the phone with her tongue to make return visits or conduct bible studies... i must have heard this experience at least 6 or 7 times in the past 20 years or so.
and every time i heard this recycled talk, they would add even more guilt-inducing twists to it.
to me, it eventually became way to difficult to believe...

I personally would not appreciate someone that infirm struggling up the steps to my front door. Imagine if they tripped and fell. Hope my homeowners insurance is up to date! -

Yeah, but did they have 2 witnesses against him? 😉 What a creep, never could understand men who do that, you really wouldn't see much from that view. -

Wow, what a story. Would a JW woman be allowed to take the injection I wonder. I thought about that after I had my baby when I found out I had the RH factor because the injection for that is made from blood. Thankfully by that time I was out of the cult! -

Cart Witnessing - Thrilling! Productive! Epic! Er.....um, well, not so much.....
by sir82 intalked with a pioneer recently, she was recounting her first experience with cart witnessing.. she brought the subject up, was going on & on & on & on about how wonderful the experience was, and how great, and how she enjoyed it so much, and it was so wonderful, and oh jehovah's blessing, and on and on and on...... a few questions to her revealed what really happened:.
-- a jw who owns a small restaurant in a strip mall allows jws to set up their cart outside his restaurant.
-- the restaurant is tucked pretty far out of the way, not prominent at all.

If I saw a JW cart outside a restaurant I would get indigestion even before I ate!😂
