I notice how the Brooklyn facility is referred to as a "campus". The new Warwick facility is a "compound". Kind of says it all, doesn't it?. Also sounds like the city won't be sorry to see them go since they contibute nothing. -

If you went back in time, would you be a god?
by Simon inwe just finished watching outlander which is about a woman who goes back in time ~200 years from the end of wwii.
she ends up in the scottish highlands in the middle of the jacobite uprising.
it's a great show although the last episodes were a little graphic (they make game of thrones seem like sesame street).. but it got me thinking ... if you went back in time would you in fact be the 'god' you may imagine because of your knowledge of modern technology and the future?.

Mark Twain had this covered, amusingly, in "Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court". Even though written over 100 years ago with the technology of that era, the character becomes as a god as he goes back in time. The movie with Bing Crosby in the title role is pretty funny. -

i have.. typically it's the last resort when you have dismantled a jws beliefs and they have no way of defending them.
they know they are beat so they come out with that one.. its effectively an admission that you are right and they have no argument but they are still going to attend meetings because they like the social club.. what a lame way to defend your faith..

JW.org on *MY* New TV - ???
by AudeSapere inso i *finally* upgraded my old, heavy, tube tv to a new flatscreen, smart tv.
the install was much easier than i expected and i was very happy with my progress.
then i get to the set-up part of the installation.

Barf! I wonder though, do they pay a fee to have that come up? Like with Google, you can pay them a small fee to have your website pop up first or close to the top. My daughter has a small business and that is what she does to get her website noticed. -

The Demons were messing with me last night!
by olongapo joe inso said my pops one morning.
we were visiting my sister in eastern tennessee and the night before after everyone else went to bed pops was watching tv when all of a sudden and completely on it's own the tv changed to the tonight show, holy smokes!!
must be demons cause pops didn't change it!

When you Go to Bethel, You Sign Over Your Dead Body.
by new boy inthis is in response to the thread about the supposed suicide of a bethelite in 1995.. when i went to bethel i and everyone else, signed a form stating that "if we died while at bethel the wathtower bible and tract society,had the right to keep our body.".
yes, we thought it strange at the time but as a twenty years old you didn't think much about stuff like that.
besides we were never going to die anyway.

Why in the world would a parent agree to have their child hidden away in an unmarked grave. Talk about loss of natural affection! Wonder what they would or legally could do if a family requested a decent respectful burial in a family plot. -
