What Is Your Favorite Overlooked Movie?

what i am talking about a movie that you thought was great, but is mostly forgotten by most people today.. well, my favorite overlooked movie is "a perfect world.

Here's some of overlooked good films of the darker variety. If you like watching "Shawshank" type films, dont' bother with these:

"Damage," staring Jeremy Irons. It's a film about sexual obsession. A high profile English politician falls for his son's wife.

"Requiem for a Dream. Director's Cut." Head and shoulders over "Blow" and "Traffic" in exposing how taking drugs or dealing them can utterly destroy your life. I warn you, this is perhaps the most unpleasant film I have ever seen. It's genius, but I never never want to see it again. A descent into hell.

"Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer." Another cheery flick that motivated me to buy an alarm for my home. Disturbing, but well made.

"American Psycho." Not a slasher flick but more a commentary on the soulessness of materialism and people in general. There is a sarcastic sense of humor running through this film if you get it...
or care to get it.

What Do You Think is the Most OVERRATED movie?

i few days ago i stated a post asking people what movie they considered underrated.

well, now i am going to the other side of the spectrum.

what do you think is the most overrated movie?.

I thought "Traffic" was a good movie, and I thought the direction was good in interweaving the stories all together. I would agree I'd seen some of those plotlines before.

I would have voted for "Cast Away" or "American Pie" as best picture of the year before "Shakespear in Love" which I could barely even finish. I figure it won because of Harvey Weinstein's clout with Academy members.

Running Man,

I loved "Jacob's Ladder." I have to admit I didn't know what the hell was happening during the entire movie until the end when it cleared up what was happening to him.

Apostate Literature

is it possible after researching the net on jw beliefs, background and reading apostate information that a jw would still research the bible and find watchtower teachings as truth?

Valis is correct, it depends on the individual. I have shown a couple of JW's the information I had acquired against the Watchtower, and after viewing it, watching the video "Witnesses to Jehovah," reading "Crisis of Conscience," they STILL stayed in. It didn't make much difference.

Why? They had reasons, unknown even to themselves, for wanting to stay in.

Titanic. Terrible script, but good acting, great special effects.

Since I don't believe in eternal conscious damnation, nor do I believe the Bible teaches that concept, I have no worries about being dipped into God's Deep Vat Fryer.

Hi Dave,

There are two types of motivation, the carrot and the stick, or positive and negative motivation. By far the most effective is negative motivation. Repent and do what I say or I'll burn ya and torture you forever on my eternal BBQ grill has worked well for the churches. Nothing packs them in at the front of the church for an altar call like a hellfire and damnation sermon.

Another overlooked film I liked was "Seven Beauties." It's about an Italian playboy who is a POW in a Nazi concentration camp. He's starving to death, and he has to come up with a plan to survive. He does. By making romantic overtures to the camp commandant,who is an enormous, obese woman.

I loved "Oh Brother Where Art Thou." Not your typical movie but so many funny lines.

"You guys are dumber than a bag of hammers!"
