  Just a note on 2 John 8-11

  :
  
  The person that a Christian would not say 'greetings' (Greek = 'chairo' = 'rejoice/be well/thrive') would be one who does not "remain in the teaching of the Christ", not one who disagrees with certain interpretations of Scripture.
  
  And Titus 3:9:
  
  Here, persons rejected are those involved in "foolish controversies" about genealogies and the Mosaic law, the reason being that these are "unprofitable and futile". Thus divisions could be caused through unnecessary debate about obscure and unimportant matters. It is obvious that this has nothing to do with genuine legitimate concerns over moral or physical dangers to members of the congregation, nor to concerns over potentially harmful interpretations of Scripture.

  "It is unthinkable on my part that I should declare you men righteous! Until I expire I shall not take away my integrity from myself!" - Job 27:5 (NWT)
  
  "He will weigh me in accurate scales and God will get to know my integrity." - Job 31:6 (NWT)
  
  "He that is walking in integrity will walk in security, but he that is making his ways crooked will make himself known." - Proverbs 10:9 (NWT)
  
  "Better is the one of little means who is walking in his integrity than anyone crooked in [his] ways, although he is rich." - Proverbs 28:6 (NWT)
  
  "Integrity, then, is most evident when the individual's devotion is under test and he is pressured to abandon his righteous course. Though made a laughingstock by opposers (Job 12:4; compare Jer 20:7) or made the object of bitter speech (Ps 64:3, 4), hatred, and violent persecution (Pr 29:10; Am 5:10), whether in sickness or in distressful adversity, a person must 'hold fast his integrity' as did Job, no matter what the cost. - Job 2:3" - Insight On The Scriptures (Vol 1, page 1211, para. 3).

  Concerning Jesus' trial: "So the judges were prejudiced and had their minds made up on the verdict before ever the trial took place...Because of the wrongness of their actions, they did not arrest him in the temple in the daytime, but they waited until they could act under cover of darkness..." - Ibid (Volume 2, page 235, para. 2)
  
  Concering Israelite judicial matters: "A person with a civil matter or a complainant in a criminal matter would bring his case to the judges. The other party would be called, witnesses were gathered together, and the hearing was conducted in a *public place, most often at the city gates." - Ibid (Volume 2, page 234, para. 1) - *public place: i.e. where the general public could hear the proceedings.
  MANY OF US ARE THINKING OF YOU BILL. YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION AND A FINE EXAMPLE OF A COURAGEOUS MAN WHO BELIEVES IN STICKING TO HIS PRINCIPLES. SUCH A STANCE IS NOT EASY AT TIMES AND IT MAY FEEL AS IF WE ARE THE ONLY ONES IN THE WORLD WHO CARE ABOUT DOING WHAT IS RIGHT. REMEMBER THIS SCRIPTURE?:
  
  "And I have let seven thousand remain in Israel, all the knees that have not bent down to Ba'al, and every mouth that has not kissed him." - 1 Kings 19:18 (NWT)

  I desperately need a WT bible!

  hey,.

  i am not currently a jw but i really want to do some private study of your bible.... i live in a remote area of yorkshire and there are no kingdom halls about.

  are there any websites (that deliver to the uk) where i can order a wt bible in the hope of becoming a jw in the future?.

  Overseer: I should also like to say that other Bibles also have biases. With respect to DoubleEdge, it should be noted that supposedly pro-Trinity scriptures should be given as much careful scrutiny as those who promote the doctrine give to the NWT - there is often more to it than meets the eye.

  the nwt bible was writen from the original hebrew, greek, and aramaic .

  manuscripts.

  some found in the dead sea caves in 1950. there is no cost.

  By far the most enlightening Bible versions are the texts of Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (Old Testament Hebrew) and the United Bible Societies' The Greek New Testament. Interlinear (available in both Hebrew and Greek) Bible and lexicons are great tools for extracting the pure language of the Bible. It is amazing what one can find at times hidden underneath the modern language translations!

  BB, the Greek word is 'Iounian'. The grammatical case is feminine object ('-an').

  Chocky, yes let me qualify:
  
  The fact that an animal had been strangled seems to indicate that a human being had taken the life of the animal and therefore had not bled it according to God's law on blood as given to Noah. It was of course the pouring out of the blood onto the ground when a human being had killed an animal that according to the Bible showed respect for the fact that life had been taken by permission from God. The emphasis was on respect for life, not for the fluid called blood. Blood is simply a symbol of life, but not greater than life itself.

  1 ) how do you personally feel about the fact that the wts is now moving to disfellowship mr. anderson for writing that letter?.

  2) if mr. anderson were to begin posting to this board, how would you view him?.
