Well that's what's strange. In the first meeting he denied everything. I don't want to get into too many details, but it's obvious from what has come up that he is totally guilty of cheating. It's not even a question. The only reason there is drama over it is because of the 2 witness rule. He has squeaked by somehow. Lol... -

(I am still a serving elder. I have no idea how much longer I can stomach it. Timing is terrible for stepping down right now, though. So I play the chess game. At least I can relate some stories from the back room :)
So, in an elder's meeting of the whole body recently, a matter with a married brother (baptized non-attender) came up. He was accused of infidelity by his wife. The accusations flying around this guy sound like a Jerry Springer episode. Drugs, Hookers, run-ins with Police etc.
Well, he admits to nothing and there aren't enough verifiable witnesses for the elders to pin anything on him at this point. It's not like he attends or anything, but the wife has squealed on him. In the real world, a person can just divorce their spouse and move on. In JW world, a person has to jump through hoops to be "scripturally free". So this sister is trying to get her husband busted by the elders so she can then have permission to divorce him. (What is wrong with this picture?)
I sit back there shocked at how these men play "God" in people's lives. I avoid the drama and committee meetings as much as possible. The eager beaver elders usually speak up to chase this crap, so it works out for me.
What baffles me the most, though, is why would this guy even take a call from an elder? He actually took the call, set an appointment, and sat down with two elders - so they could interrogate him! And get this... there is another meeting scheduled with him! ....What?!
People are nuts...

A person born into family wealth is expected to be a custodian of that wealth. They are to preserve and grow that wealth to pass it on to future generations. It is the family legacy.
This governing body is auctioning off the family jewels to the highest bidder!
Brings to mind a certain "Talents" illustration. I believe that illustration ended like this for the slave that invested poorly:
And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' (Mt 25:30)

This is a baby boomer organization. Gen X got crapped on.
When the handicapped/elderly section at the conventions starts shrinking instead of growing you'll know the decline is in full swing.

Watchtower is downsizing. They are selling off assets and streamlining operations.
Google isn't doing this.
Why not?

Wow... There More Closet Faders Than I Thought
by pale.emperor inyep, im still fading.
i know it's gonna be a long and meticulous process but so far it's going well.
isnt it funny how when you stop reading the material and stop thinking yourself of being unworthy all the time - eventually you get happier and happier each day and see the world around you the way it is?

There is a "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water" stage for everyone probably during the wake up process.
Eventually though, you see fully there is no baby. Just dirty water.
Just another scam where the people at the top don't pay any bills.

Nice interview. A JW sister that goes to Bethel as an elder's wife, is there for 1975, later leaves and goes to college while remaining in good standing and with husband still an elder, goes into the medical field. Later they wake up to Ttatt... -

Someone anonymously tipped the elders?
by raven inso here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.
anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.
and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?

I know of a case where the guy is a flaming apostate and the brothers won't touch him with a ten foot pole because he threatened to sue each brother personally, the congregation, the CO, and the the watchtower if they tried to pursue anything that would defame his name. He had an attorney involved.
It's amazing how the big bad elders become childishly small when "Satan's" legal authority is introduced. Why would God be afraid of Satan? Lol.....

Making fun of an elder, CO or GB'er, would it be considered brazen conduct or some other WT sin?

I said recently that the new light was to sell all of your tight pants and buy an ipad.
It got a laugh in a mixed crowd of JW's including a recently re-appointed elder. Lol....
