Vidiot... interesting point. I think from time to time about something similar happening for me.

If there is ever a child abuse case anywhere near me, I will jump on that like stank on poo. My wife would sympathize with the child immediately. I think these child cases "somewhere else" are a bit too abstract for my wife to see clearly. There is the little doubt about whether everyone is telling the truth or what have you. If she knew the child... it would be over. That's what I believe anyway.

the watchtower organization resists the idea that its workforce is comprised of employees.

instead it promotes the idea that these individuals comprise a family.

yet recently there is a directive that smacks a totalitarian tendency.

It is a sad day when a member of the bethel "family" gets evicted and then realizes that the term "family" was nothing more than manipulative horse shit the whole time.

This is especially sad for those that have no real family or friends and were using the WT as a surrogate.

Just another fine example of the WT exploiting the weak and/or naive.

Bethel Layoffs In Australia Confirmed

yes, last week the number of bethel layoffs was confirmed from 90 to 125. .

and those going in thinking they may be there for some time have been told.

I would add to sparrowdown's thought that they are also a business where only the business makes any money.

At least a normal employee has a paycheck to show for his/her troubles.

I Hate the Sound of the Word Jehovah

listening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.

every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.

it stands for so much that i have contempt for.

I hate it now because I know it's their fake Pseudonym for Watchtower. Jehovah is a figure head.

Put Jehovah first = Put WT first

Draw close to Jehovah = Get more involved with WT

Obey Jehovah = Obey WT leadership

The statement sounded wonderful to me. I was shocked at my reaction. It used to be such a taboo thing. So solemn. Even sad. But now for me it is different. I honestly don't want to be one of Jehovahs Witnesses anymore, but I am staying in to slowly get my wife out. This time when I heard the announcement, I didn't hear sad at all. I heard relief. I heard honesty. I heard a clean slate.

If it happens to me one day, I will celebrate it. I will throw myself a coming out party.

With that said, my heart goes out to the people dealing with hurt from shunning.

But honestly I envied the two persons being read out. I wanted to be them.

i just found an archive of one of anthony morris's talks back from 1916, (yes the man is that old), about facial hair.

Whats crazy is, he actually should be saying that since facial hair is so obviously masculine.
