In simple terms.... The tetragrammatom in ancient HEBREW, it is actually a sentence 'he causes what he wills' and what a suprise, or not really... That HEBREW sentence that the JW's claim is gods name... is not anywhere in the GREEK writings.

Bare in mind it isnt just a different language but a different slphabet. The JW's WRONGLY replace LORD in the NT not only with the tetragrammaton sentence, but with the name jehovah.

700 years after jesus died, copyists assumed there may be a code in the old testament and used two terms used for god in the old testament, YHWH and LORD or in hebrew Adonai. They took the consonants from adonai and added them to YHWH to make YaHoWaH, or in latin JaHoVaH.

So not only have they assumed a hebrew sentence is somehow supposed to be in a GREEK text, they then say it is supposed to be this mish mash of YHWH and ADONAI. It is shameful... They know they shouldnt be doing it, hence they add an excuse to the bible itself in its glossary.

okay i know that there are people who began careers in medicine, law, etc.

then later got into the truth.

i know that pursuing a higher education is not forbidden but a personal choice.

I am in the last year of my 7years of my medical education.

number one ...go for it, but you will see how personsl your choice is when the elders come knocking had you been baptised.

number two..... your views on blood are because you were a JW not because they are logical, non jw's do not share your view at all.

number three.... don't worry, an education will iron out all of the JW myths and highlight their dishinesty, even in ilife and death matters.

If you really want to be a doctor you will have to adopt the EVIDENCE BASED MEDICINE we now practice. That means following the science. How could you give someone blood ethically if you really believe it is wrong on a life saving scientific level? how do you think every doctor does it if it is unscientific or dangerous? Ever considered your ideas on blood may not be valid? Ever considered you may have been lied to? Why not go find out.....

i love my job, I love the science and information it has given me. I am embarassed at the person I was, the JW I was, the opinions a d stances I had despite total ignorance.

For me medicine is the most rewarding job there is, the fact it is hand in hand with science and ethics is just a bonus as an ex jw.

Go for it, you will love it. I will never ever know how the JW doctors I met in my life sleep at night knowing what they know.

I now read Paul and he seems very much like a Roman on a mission for Rome ......

He is largely responsible for the NT and its roman flavoured paganism. What a coincidence he used to kill christians and never even met jesus , he came 30 years after him but had a lot to say, with lots of attitude and crazy talk.

i am not sure how you all feel as we all left at different times for different reasons.... but this new bible seems to have put some final nails into a coffin that was once my jw life.

the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.

different teachings on when the end is coming.

Apognophos an elder from the 80's or 90's transported to 2013 would be asking where the friendly lions were and why were there still damned catholics walking around in paradise?... Also maybe WHY are YOU using the internet? The internet is EVIl ! He may also scratch his head as to why they were painting over the signs in Brooklyn...

But anyway...

I am happy that in your life you feel differently to me and my experience, we both just offer opinion, though to be fair there are large changes to the religion as is evident in the facts.

Even a local elder who bumped into me in work a few weeks ago told me that the JW's were progressing so quickly I would not recognise them anymore... and I don't, I am glad that you do, all the best.

Need Real Friends

i have been to various mental health message board for years.

however, i cannot find any real friends there.. since my disassociation from the jw, i have no group which i belong to.

i have tried even multilevel marketing scheme in order to make new friends but unsuccessful.. .

I think you have skeletons in the loset that will hold you back until you deal with them, you want the WT to be something it will never be. Face your issues with WT and then move in or move on....

Should I stay or should I go? If I stay there will be trouble.... If I got it will be double....

in appendix b1, there is a timeline for the message of the bible.

on the second page of that appendix, there is a small section entitled "about 1914", what is this?

don't you find it odd that they use the word "about"?
