How I recently handled JWs at my door
by Christian guy inthe jws stopped by my house a couple weeks ago on a saturday morning.
i knew that with others most likely waiting for them out in the car they probably did not then have much time to engage in any serious conversation.
so i let them talk while i feigned interest in what they had to say.

god-of-the-gaps. Should we or shouldn't we fiil in the gaps with God?
by KateWild inscience imo does not have all the answers.
when i discover gaps in science, it's easy for me, as a temporary measure to fill in the gaps with god.
i do this until i have learnt something new.. what about you?

I am glad we are all laughing ha ha ha
how fun x
Stauros, we had to know the heart from the atoms up, in fact it was week one of medical school and 7 years later it was relevant to my day today. I managed a patient with calcium channel blockers.......I remember when I first went back to education, I realised how much a religious upbringing had left me ignorant to what humans know. I apologise for getting cheesed off, it isnt your fsult.
You are literally akin to standing under a sky, refusing to accept the sky is not made of wool because your holy book says it is, laughing at the people explaining why it is in fact a combination of gasses, you stand gripping your beliefs tighter in total denial. Thats cool, but you are unmistakably wrong about the sky, if you were an onlooker to a muslim or buddhist refusing to accept the sky was not made of wood as their texts dictated, you would likely look on and say "what a silly and unreasonable man, the evidence clesrly proves his text wrong, hah I would never be so stupid!" As the buddhist points and laughs at the people trying to help him understand "as if you know more than my god or holy books ha ha ha ha..."

Medical finals
by snare&racket inpray to the spaghetti monster or the deity of your choice but people, lets have some praising and praying and begging for mercy due to my atheistic ways.... i repent, i beg forgivness and i seek your kind ways oh lordy, i am but a humble man under your mighty heel....... i ask nothing in return.................bbbut some neuroanatomy written on my heart would be great, my meager conscience leaves considerable room for data!.
i did sacrifice that ...somewhat out of date .... tesco chicken to you last week!
i deposited it in your non recyclable altar, no hot ashes indeed!.

Hey band, thanks....
I'm not bright.. no different to anyone , Just work hard and enjoy medicine. Well done with the law, we have discussed it before. I am so excited when I hear of people reaching their goals like that, becuse of my choices I paticularly appreciate academic achievments because of the work and self dicipline that is involved in meeting them.
I must admit it is the hardest thing by far I have ever done, i have had to work at 110% for 7 years now, non stop without let up. I started in a class of 60 with 11 getting into medicine, then I was one of 16 mature student of which there are only 9 who have not been removed In the last 6 yesrs. There isnt much left in me, but thankfully a doctors life though a job is somewhat easier, I will have a job with evenings and weekends off for the first time in 7 years, also we get no holidays, just 9 days at xmas, so that will be sweet to get them back... . I miss the normal life and it awaits me soon.
I register with the GMC this month and I have applied for my first job a few weeks ago all being well shouldnt be long now, but you never know, especially being so tired.
I go back to my home town in 3 weeks where I am working as a GP all over Xmas, I will have my own room and patients every day, it is my old doctors surgery too, it is all going to be very strange.....

Stauros, having dissected human hearts, having studied them for 7 years, having spent TODAY examining and manageing and investigating REAL HUMAN HEARTS, I can confirm you are quite wrong.
The heart is no different to a swimming pool pump or an oil pump or water pump in your car. Hormones speed it up and some chemicals slow it down, emotions affect our heart rate as we prepare to protect ourselves or as we recognise we can calm down and preserve energy. The heart is palpable..... Something you can feel..... Change quite easily, so the egyptians wrongly assumed it was part of your emotional brain.
In reality your brain in the frontal lobe, is similar to a computer processor where it sorts all the data it has.... Memories, images, smells, sounds emotions and this is where you believe your hesrt work takes place. WE KNOW because of how people behave when this area is damaged. People dont finish developing this region until they are in esrly 20's but from mid teens. Hence we dont let teens make contracts or big decisions because they cant make long term desicions and make poor emotional decisions due to a still developing frontal lobe.
adrenaline, cortisol is made in the adrenal glands on top of your kidneys..... they are recognised and used to turn responses up and down in all areas, blood vessels, organs, eyes, limbs..... The heart is just one and is easily noticed because of the feeling you get in your chest, but the butterflys in the stomach, dry mouth, clammy palms, hairs on end etc etc etc etc are all the same response.
Stauros.... Deny it sll you want, it just says alot about how you process information if you ignore it and continue to insist the egyptians are right.
