Do athiests believe it's possible that aliens, not all powerful God created man?

i've sort of mentioned this as a different possibility in response to other threads but i was curious if any of you athiests all think that life just evolved on this earth from single cell organisms or if you ever thought it's possible that intelligent life long ago w/ advanced science could have made humans and much of life on earth and just dumped it here or made it here.

.

i'm not making this thread to debate, i am just curious if any of you have come up with other ideas on your own as possibilities since all we have for the origin of life are just theories right now.

Panspermia can't be dismissed, we know even bacteria csn survive in space. But it would be unwise to slow down our work in abiogenesis in exchange for a panspermia hypothesis, at the moment certainly. We still have a lot to ask and rule out before we go in that direction.

The advancements in abiogenesis now we believe RNA is the original code, are significant and it is exciting times to be alive and able to learn.

Saying all this, I am open to thr idea of panspermia and for some reasom find it a comforting theory. Maybe because it eliminates our loneliness in the universe.

EOM- there were black and white (and other colour moths), but due to the colour of ash trees, the white moths were the largest in number originally because they hid well due to their colour, they survived more, procreated more so those genes previaled more. When the smog came, the black ones didn't pop out of nowhere, they already existed, but now their colour was more advantageous. So they lived more, they procreated more and their genes prevailed.

Nobody said that they evolved and mutated to be black there and then.

Listen, nothing beats teaching yourself VIA BOOKS the in's and outs of evolution. For some time now, you have come and asked these same questions over and over again, if you really want to know, go get the books.

This is a complex topic and you are making evident by your questions that you have not grasped the basics. I mean it in the most sincere way, go and get some books.

hello jwn!

i don't get to check in here or comment as often as i would like because i have been working so hard at school...but i just have to share my news in hopes that newbees can see that taking the leap to enroll in higher education is worth it-.

i am graduating this spring with a bachelor degree in art history, minor anthropology...many people (including nonjw's have given me flack for choosing a "dead end" career path) but since leaving the watchtower organization's group-think mentality and "leaning on my own understanding" instead... i decided to say fuck everyone else's opinion...i am going to pursue my passion to work in a museum as a curator or archivist-.

7 years ago i started on a path i had long ago given up on as impossible.

i met with my elders and told them i could not justify carrying on as a jw.

i went and got my high school qualifications and my higher education diploma (a levels with distinction) in just 12 months.

I was a bethelite in the Uk Mag, I was also a window cleaner, shop worker, building site dogs-body to support my pioneering.

I like to ask people what shape a human red blood cell is? They say round (close enough- concave) and I ask if they have heard of sickle cell disease? The cells in these people are sickle shaped due to a random dna mutation. It is prevelant in eastern africa as it is protects from Malaria.

So again what shape is a human red blood cell? Round

What shape is a human red blood cell in 50 years.... if a vicious malaria spreads globally wiping out most of humanity?

The answer is now ....sickle shaped.

No intelligence, no design and with no prior knowledge of the events leading to this change, a human in the future would conclude they were perfectly designed to their environment.

evolutionary biology is a 3 year degree. You are starting from scratch and want the answers ih half a forum page. We have given you a great foundation to go learnd from.

I had diddly-squat, I picked up the books. Didn't have anyone to ask anything to either. So if you are sincere about knowing..... go get the books x
