Most absurd thing I heard at the convention yesterday!
by Batman89 inbrother lett was giving the last talk of the day about what they supposedly accomplished in 100 years.
i was just waking up so im paraphrasing alittle(i was dosing off all day) anyways in his introduction he said.
"there is more evidence to prove gods kingdom on the earth is a reality than wind, electricity and gravity is a reality on the earth".

Who wants to know when they are wrong..... SCIENTISTS..... because they want to be right!
Let me put it this way, these people want to know the truth, want to know how the world works.....so being wrong is useless..... now do you get it?
Lastly, who sees science as a god? Tthat is the most ridiculous thing I have read here. Science is a 5 stage process that anyone can use to test an idea, the last stage being peer review (which in YOUR example worked perfectly well and we learned something). Calling a 5 stage processs of testing a god is just weird and indicates you have no idea what 'science' even means. Science is just a process that works for testing ideas, that is all. We have had the process approx 150 years and we have used it to go from riding horses to space shuttles in just two generations of people!
THIS is what you are calling a god.....anyone ignorantly not knowing what science is may nod along, I used to... but look at what science is...

A perfect example of how science works.
New evidence denounces a hypothesis? Cool that makes the null hypothesis correct, mankind learned something about a body in our galaxy thanks to science. Peer review questioned the method, new research improved the mechanism of collecting data and we learned something new whilst removing something now unlikely to be true....Welcome to the scientific method.
I prefer this constructive comment.....
"Since their discovery, numerous investigations have disputed the existence of controversial planets. Their discoverers – Steve Vogt of the University of California Santa Cruz and Paul Butler of the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, DC – even had to publish another paper in 2012 to reaffirm the existence of Gliese 581g. They measured the colors on the violet end of the colour spectrum emitted by calcium in a star to do their corrections.
But in the new research Robertson instead measured hydrogen-emitted red color while analyzing data in Vogt and Butler's 2012 paper. He says for a cooler, low mass stars like Gliese 581 it works better, as they do not emit much blue light. In case of Gliese 581 the new measurement has shown that the system has 3 planets – a, b, and c, all of which appeared sharper – while d and g disappeared.
“I hope this research points the way toward finding exciting new planets hidden beneath stellar signals,” Robertson said."
These people are introducing data and information for mankind that will last forever, what was your last contribution to mankind and how long will it last for?

Elders answer questions about the changes of the blood ban
by opusdei1972 insome days ago two elders visited my sister because she has not been attending the meetings more than one year.
this time she prepared notes containing watchtower past teachings about the blood ban so as to ask them for those changes, and it seems that the elders were also prepared for her past questions.
for instance she showed them that "albumin" was considered "under scriptural ban" in 1956 (read the page 20 of awake, september 8).

By who's definition? As I said, Jw's hav made their own rules up.....
You now know the facts, decide for yourseld. Of course anyone with a hint of knowledge about blood find the WT stance illogical and inconsistant.

Oubliette,
The shelf life of all the components in blood vary by years, so they are seperated and stored appropriatly at different temperatures. Then we give what is needed, blood loss or low Haemaglobin. give red blood cells.
Jw's have really confused what 'blood' and 'fractions' are to its members. Blood is the combination of all these factors whereas most JW's think of blood as a 1L bag of red stuff. It isn't, it's red blood cells, a small fraction of blood.

There is a lot of b.s. here because there are a lot of people here .......and people carry opinions and ideas ......and we are mostly wrong.
People need to protect themselves by getting informed or educated. If they feel it is too late for them, ensure their children or grandchildren do.

Thats incredible, pay us a monthly fee and we will look after your halls worldwide... erm but .....you are responsible for your halls 'minor renovation'. I am sorry but if people want to engage in such obvious cognitive dissonance and ignore such blatant pilfering of funds, I have less sympathy than ever for those ignoring the obvious "DUPED" hat that sit upon their head.
If this was anything but a new arrangement in THEIR religion, these people would laugh at this obvious scam. What is truly sad, I am sure most would defend such a scam to the death.
Up until now, congregations were forced by the CO to refurbish at great cost with money going to WT's compulsary expensive plans and materials and we saw an unprecedented number of refurbishments in the RBC. Let's see how many there are, now that the WT are paying the bill....

Watchtower have redefined much for their own wants, be it the meaning of 'generation' or 'fraction'.

Also, last 2 cents... there is an important issue in JW's that is not to be underestimated, for many...AN answer is enough. Not the right answer just AN answer.
Nowhere else is this logical, acceptible or smart. It only works in fascist regimes and fundementalist belief systems.
This woman asked very specific questions and the answers were irrelevant to her question. It was given to her because that is the answer the elders have been told to give. Argue that the answer is ridiculous and you are instantly disrespecting the FDS and now can be labeled an apostate.
A sham and a source of b.s. nothing more
