What about that one with the guy.... the linen salesman that decided to write a load of bible literature and start his own religion and then he tried to sell miracle wheat to his followers and then his wife left him then 100 years later a cult had developed all over the world but they are not allowed to read the founders writings because they are so batshit crazy.... like how the pyramids have secret codes such as the end of the world was the length of a corridor in a pyramid ...1914.... oh remember that one?

Hello Everyone, Another JW Has Left!
by SuperGirl injust want to introduce myself and let you know that this site is working and is a big help to lots of jws with doubts.
i've been lurking for about a year, the first couple of times i was frightened and literally shaking visiting an apostate site but it's the only place i can come to for sanity.
the religion has become a nut house.

Should I be with someone who's had lots of pervious partners?
by Jxvi inthanks for reading (i'm sorry this is a little bit of a sensitive topic, though i'll try to be gentle.).
a little back story.
i have been working so hard to build my faith this year, and i am finally at the point where i am beginning to trust god and i want to build an unbreakable relationship with him.

P.s ... sex is just sex. Don’t judge someone on something so human, so natural. Good luck finding someone without multiple encounters under the age of 35. It doesn’t mean anything either way.
My girlfriend has had previous partners, as a JW that would be u imaginable. JWs see it almost as a personal slight to be with someone who has had sex with someone else as the Watchtower teaches that they should have waited for marriage and to give their 🙄 purity to their partner.
Its not 1467........ it’s 2018

It is a very dangerous cult. Do your research, do your reading. Don’t rely on anything we say here or that they say to you in person. You only know the motives and honesty of YOU... so you have to put a lot of effort in and do your own research.
Imagine if Apple or another company banned people from reading bad reviews or anything negative about their products. Imagine if they said the reason for it was there is a risk you may believe some of it and not want their product and that’s dangerous because there product is definitely the best! That’s exactly what JWS do. Imagine if a member of the board at apple decided to leave because of ethical reasons and when he left write a book to show all the bad things going on there.... that’s what Ray Franz did, the book is called ‘Crisis of Conscience.’
The JWs are going to tell you, that you are not smart enough to safely read negative things about the JW’s. They will tell you it is risking your life.
Ask yourself when this exact thing happens..... what organisation or belief system is scared of information? What kind of institution is scared of opinions, of books?
Scientists seek out alternate opinions and views to see how valid they are in the hope of concluding what is true. JW’s are petrified of anything not written by the Watchtower.
Walk away whilst you still have a life......

It’s seen as a cheap way to garner support. Aim low, forget your true feelings and ideaology and say whatever will appeal to the masses.
Anyone can blame hard times on immigrants and foreign countries. Anyone can say tax the wealthy. Anyone can say let’s build roads and infrastructure. Anyone can say soldiers are the real heroes.
It’s more than this though, it comes with a “they’re saying what we are all thinking for once” and a “they’re brave enough to say what the others won’t” ..... like all Mexican immigrants are rapists 🙄

Why does WT rarely reference creationist scientist?
by Sanchy inin watching the latest video in the series "was it designed?
" at tv-dot-jw-dot-org, i got to wondering why is it that watchtower hardly references scientist that are creationist.
i know its only a minority from that group, but there are enough out there for them to reference from.

It’s odd isn’t it. They are being very ‘savvy’.... they hold clear creationist views but a few years back stated clearly in the literature that JWs are not creationists.
I think the GB have enough insight into their ridiculous doctrines and world beliefs, that when they see creationists are effortlessly mocked with fact and science...... it’s a dangerous group to associate the JW brand to.
Oddly they also once said they don’t take the bible literally ..... they literally do.
I think it’s all nothing more than safety netting the brand.

Conversation with my Dad today concerning the Leah Remini show
by joe134cd injoe : i don’t quite know how to tell you this dad.
dad : what daughter .
joe : dont get mad or offensive, but there was a documentary that aired a few nights ago on prime time tv in the usa concerning the jws, and there was some very nasty stuff mentioned, and it certainly wasn’t positive toward the organisation.

When your belief system can be famous for child abuse and you still refuse to question it.... then logic, reasoning, the weight of data & knowledge are all long lost. Blind allegiance and fear fuelled loyalty dominate the person and dilute their nature to a drone. Sad.

For those who are athest, or non-christian, how did you come to this decision?
by Tameria2001 ini'm not asking this question to cause an argument or accuse, but i am honestly just wondering?
for those of you who are now atheist or non-christian, how did you come to this decision?
i hadn't given this much thought until about a year ago.

I read the Bible, the god I was raised to believe in as a JW, simply doesn't exist in the scriptures.
The fatherly, Santa Claus like god, just isn't there. The god of the Bible is vicious and quite evil. Had he been a human King, he'd have a horrid reputation.
Once I realized this, it allowed me to question the authenticity of the Bible without fear. The history of the Bible, human history, the history of civilisation, the history of religions and beliefs.... everything unraveled.
For me the most honest view is that we don't know if a deity or deities exist. I see no evidence and I see a clear explanation for where the idea of a deity came from. I also see no need for a deity to explain the universe. Despite all this, the most honest opinion is that we don't know. It's a strict position of agnosticism but I see as much evidence for a god as a unicorn. Everything is about probability, anyone claiming absolutes and a knowledge unique to them.... be weary, what makes them so special that they know something nobody else does?
