Avoid Going back to the JW's - Educate Yourself about Mind Control
by flipper ini've talked with some good friends on the board about this before and we seem to be in agreement : one reason ( among many ) that some disfellowshipped jw's go back and return to the wt organization is because they are full of uneeded guilt or uneeded fear because they haven't educated themselves about how the wt society uses mind control tactics to deceive them into thinking they have " nowhere else to go " .
i understand that some dfed ones may go back to the organization for family and friends- however- it's an exrecise in futility because once you learn the truth about the truth you cannot undo what you heard.
so some may just go back and live a fake jw life to appease family- but just think of how that can damage a person's emotional and mental health playing the fake jw game the rest of their lives !

the bible and its prophecies
by Crazyguy ini have been doing a lot of research on the bible and its roots so to speak and its becoming clearer that the jews like other races took gods and stories from others and made them their own.
its also become clear that many of the books were written later then stated, like daniel probably written about a hundred years before christ and some of it maybe even after.
but what i don't get is the prophecies.

bitter: what is a 'goit'?
self-serving: they are not enslaved to a mythological deity, correct. You say it like it is a bad thing.
arrogant: It's funny how 'annoyed at ignorance' can be misintepreted as arrogant.
know it all's: I have never heard and said... 'we dont know'....so much in all my life.
own opinions: how dare they go beyond the scrolls!
without substantive facts: aww the irony, the reason you don't worship Poseidon, same reason I don't worship Yaweh. No evidence, no facts.
Now...cold steel (very 80's name , I imagine Arnie in a vest with a hot babe on well oiled guns), why not have a go at getting your own opinion of an atheist. The boring stereotype is a bit.....yawn.

A medieval question for you, if you believe in god....

what initially seems a silly question to reason over, can actually destroy a whole theology.. here is a question made famous by 'saint' thomas aquinas, believers in a almighty god with unlimited ability, please have a think about this..... the omnipotence paradox:.

Wow humbled, you are the real deal. Thinker and researcher.... How indeed did you fall for tigers in your garden and a free log cabin in a mountain range?
Most of the worlds population believes in one myth or another, don't feel bad. These religious organisation's have had centuries of experience in advertising, consumer research and indoctrination.,,,, they know exacly what they are doing. All that is required, is for the duped, to surrender their thinking ability and exchange it for loyalty to an earthly authority, they use slight of hand to distract you with shiny, sparkly rewards as they do it.
Simply be glad you figured it out with time left on the clock ;) xx
Other things I found helpful to consider...
1.
Is there even one verse of the bible that is or could be intepreted several ways? Was the bible really the best mechanism for a god when communicating? Passed on by oral story for at least a thousand years, then penned over the next 2,000 by nobody knows who! Why not in stone, into the earth, indelibly, with all context and perspective and without any doubts!!?

Would you do exactly the same things, make the same choices if we sent you back in time an hour without you knowing and let you play out that hour again?
Think about it a moment...Of course you would, whatever reason you made those desicions the first time round, will make you take that exact same choice again and EVERY time. That being the case, your free will is illusionary. Choices are determined by previously exposed influences. You may chose Cornflakes because you saw the advert on tv the night before and when entering the kitchen felt like cornflakes. Replay that moment a million times, and you would make the same decision for the exact same reason every time.
If you got up and got dressed in a blue dress, the reason you chose blue that dress remains the same, even if we sent you back and we replayed it. Whatever influenced you to make these desicions the first time round, would still be present the second time, third time, fourth time, and so you would react the same way EVERY time. We already know you would because you did it the first time and nothing in the whole universe has changed between the first play through and the millionth.
So that being said, how could a god judge you for choices as if there is a crossroads at every juncture? The man walking in on his wife having an affair, that kills her in an emotional rage, and her lover.... was always goin to. The influences were in play before he opened the door. Maybe if the guy had visited his uncle in prison as a kid, he would have stopped just short of murdering them, because his influnces changed. Maybe the fact they had just been camping and there was a knife in the room atop a pile of camping gear, influenced him to kill them. The point is, how can a go judge and punish when there is no free will? If we will make the same desicions at a set point in time and space, because of previous influences and exposures, how can we be punished. It was always going to happen.
The concept of free will is man made, though we seem to have a human desire to believe in it, likely due to the consequences of surrendering control should we admit we have alot less than free will than we once believed. We have none.
i appreciate this concept is deep, you can read up on it under 'determinism' it has nothing to do with pre-destination by the way. Just that our choices are not really choices, but reactions to influences.

A dissapointing answer, I expected more. I am no Krauss or Newton, but come on EoM, I know a little about physics....don't make this all cringeworthy and embarassing. I have distinctions in physics and math. Not that it matters a shit, but there is no substitute for learning a speciality such as quantum physics, there is no short cut. You will end up in a huge tangle.
I get the impression, dimensions are a new thing to you. I am glad to hear people here are more and more excited with science, don't get me wrong. But High-school kids know there are many dimensions EoM, according to THEORETICAL physics and math. BUT...that is all we can say right now. I knew this at the start of this thread EoM, IT WASN't news to me. Here, check me discussing it only 5 months ago.....
We can't make any claims about these dimensions beyond they theoretically exist.
So how you introduce beings and specifically spirit creatures?.......only you know.
There is no evidence and you have presented none. I wouldn't give a monkey's ass only you titled the thread 'Physics:.....' and wrongly said in your OP that your woo was scientific.
This is how bad information, junk knowledge, pseudo science prevails. It isn't healthy or helpful!

one is a dubious internet newspaper famous for ufo stories, the second is a theoretical physics idea based on another theoretical physics idea.
Do you even know what a brane is, as mentioned in the paper? Put it thid way I have mentioned them here on this forum several times because it is an explination for the big bang, without a god. Brane's negate the need of a prime mover in the big bang. A brane (dimensional plane ) interacting with another brane, is theorised to possibly cause the big bang.
So WTF are you doing adding a link to such a paper? Is it JUST because it mentions dimensions? Brane theory was born out of explaining the birth of OUR universe, without a god. You are shooting yourself in the foot!
Brane is short for membrane, did you know that? The theory you have now added, is one where, imagine several pieces of A4 paper stood up on their ends, a centimetre apart. The theory states that these pages, or membranes represent different dimensions. The theory says, if one was to somehow touch another, i.e. One piece of paper touch the next one nearby, then a reaction could occur, in the brane theory this reaction is the big bang. So again, what the hell are you quoting that for?
Are you just googling 'dimension' and pasting links to what you think backs you up? Because that just failed spectacularly.
Dimensions are real, we believe we can account for at least 11 ( some say 10) using maths and string theory. Brane theory is nothing but an idea someone had with some supporting math, that by the way has nothing to do with what you said.
Get out of the deep end of the pool EoM, grab the life ring and kick your feet to safety Buddy :D x

Just winding you up EoM, no offence meant x But really, it is not at all in line with current physics. Be careful what sources you read and take seriously. In all honesty, educating yourself from straight forward physis textbooks will prove a protection from known science and pseudo.

I have qualifications in physics EOM...... now again, the WOO you pooped in your OP had nothing to do with the temporal dimension in the video you posted.
The 3D universe is moving along the axis, the direction of time, reffered to sometimes as the 4th dimension. This is just terminology, as your video said, just a "label". Your video clearly says THIS DIMENSION IS NOT SPATIAL. You say you are a physics forum visitor ..... ahem.... so do explain how these spirits exist in a non spatial, temporal - direction. The 4th dimension is a direction, a right angle to the previous three.... That is all. IT IS NOT a gap, for you to throw a pile of woo into and say 'tada spirits exist!'

Firstly what is this 'higher' dimension? Where did you see a reference to 'higher' in any scientific source? You are implying a higher realm, a religious zone. This is both ignorant, unjustified and decietful. You then say there are higher dimensions, as in plural and this is absoloutly known. Your physics knowledge is lost in woo. We have used quantum physic, string theory and a lot of math to say there is likely at least 11 dimensions. We have not even the means to comprehend these 'theories' and here you are stating 'sprit' life forms inabit them and that we can see them. Your ignorance knows no bounds. Do yourself a favour, buy some bullshit insurance.... get a library card.
Also, wheneever you evoke science with fantastical claims, please provide a source. Show us the papers and journals. Physics forums and youtube videos don't count.... Unless it is Carl Sagan of course :D

First Post...Hi everyone! Thanks for all of your help over the years!
by stuckinarut2 inwell... as they say on talk back radio "i'm a long time listener, first time caller"(poster in this case!).
i have been a "lurker" for several years, but never had the courage to take the step and join up...until now.. i really want to thank everyone for their insights and comments throughout the forum.
although i have not contibuted to discussions, i have benefitted very much from all of your comments and observations on all topics.
