A medieval question for you, if you believe in god....
by snare&racket inmany ancient believers of god used cognition to 'think' their way from belief to atheism.
what initially seems a silly question to reason over, can actually destroy a whole theology.. here is a question made famous by 'saint' thomas aquinas, believers in a almighty god with unlimited ability, please have a think about this..... the omnipotence paradox:.
"could an omnipotent being create a stone so heavy that even he could not lift it?

I remember reading some H.G. Wells when i left WT and was amazed to find terminology and references found in WT Lit.
I looked up the terms and words and they turned out to be masonic and wiccan in nature.
I can't remember exactly how far I researched it, but I believe Russell was pals with poet Keats and Wells had a connection to them too. All of them used this masonic terminology in reference to a better world.

Physics: What are your thoughts on life in the 4th,5th,and higher dimensions?
by EndofMysteries inif you do a little research there are many physics forums, discussions, and books about this.
it's a bit challenging to grasp but it's very interesting.
if there is life on this higher dimensions, they could see us yet we would be unable to see them.

the bible and its prophecies
by Crazyguy ini have been doing a lot of research on the bible and its roots so to speak and its becoming clearer that the jews like other races took gods and stories from others and made them their own.
its also become clear that many of the books were written later then stated, like daniel probably written about a hundred years before christ and some of it maybe even after.
but what i don't get is the prophecies.

There isn't a facepalm big enough for this one......
see you in 2018, ya lemons. Have you given it ANY thought of how ashamed you will be with yourself when nothing happens. I bet you revuse to admit you were wrong, set another date and remain a believer. Smart.

I am lost as to whether people are acting stupid or just not getting it. Either way, stop embarassing yourselves by trying to answer the question. It is a paradox to make you think on the conflicting inability to label anything 'all powerful'.
i was astounded to see some people get it then claim their god was not all powerful and didnt claim to be. Never thought I would ever hear that !
What is a god if he is bound by laws and restrictions he made? That is no god!
.....and so the rope untangles...

I am worried about you now. Your previous posts have been very pro JW. Like you were trying to convince yourself It was the real 'truth' though it clearly is not.
you are between a rock and a hard place and it is not a nice spot to be in. Are you doing ok? I get the sense you are quite young, do you have a plan ig it all gets serious?
you need to ask what you want in life. Do you want to continue living a lie in a fale religion? Then simply confess, repent and move on.
want to start living the real life? Time to grow some balls, but i guarantee it is the best desicion of your life.
bearing in mind, that WT is just a croporation that teaches untruths, that the prople in the KH are just locals who don't dare question. What does it matTer?
in the grand scheme of things this is all insignificant! It is just a silly.....game.
So take yourself out the game, or let them push you out. It has the same result.

Avoid Going back to the JW's - Educate Yourself about Mind Control
by flipper ini've talked with some good friends on the board about this before and we seem to be in agreement : one reason ( among many ) that some disfellowshipped jw's go back and return to the wt organization is because they are full of uneeded guilt or uneeded fear because they haven't educated themselves about how the wt society uses mind control tactics to deceive them into thinking they have " nowhere else to go " .
i understand that some dfed ones may go back to the organization for family and friends- however- it's an exrecise in futility because once you learn the truth about the truth you cannot undo what you heard.
so some may just go back and live a fake jw life to appease family- but just think of how that can damage a person's emotional and mental health playing the fake jw game the rest of their lives !

FL PANTHERS...
What you can read, watch, listen to, hear, wear, enjoy, believe, hope for, want, do....
Who you can love, see, talk, hear, associate, play, laugh, cry, share life with....
just some of the things the 8 men in Brooklyn dictate to you as a JW. If you don't think tht is control, go enjoy it, i had it for 25 years, the 7+ years of freedom I have enjoyed don't compare to those years in chains.
enjoy!

Wow, cold steel, I have never heard that said before about atheists.....yawn.
"..bitter, self-serving, arrogant know-it-alls who frequently spout off their own opinions without bothering to elucidate them with substantive facts."
In order.....
bitter: what is a 'goit'?
self-serving: they are not enslaved to a mythological deity, correct. You say it like it is a bad thing.
arrogant: It's funny how 'annoyed at ignorance' can be misintepreted as arrogant.
know it all's: I have never heard and said... 'we dont know'....so much in all my life.
own opinions: how dare they go beyond the scrolls!
without substantive facts: aww the irony, the reason you don't worship Poseidon, same reason I don't worship Yaweh. No evidence, no facts.
Now...cold steel (very 80's name , I imagine Arnie in a vest with a hot babe on well oiled guns), why not have a go at getting your own opinion of an atheist. The boring stereotype is a bit.....yawn.
