This weeks service meeting! More craziness.....
by stuckinarut2 inso this weeks service meeting is so full of "crazy".
a whole 15 min part devoted to trying to indoctrinate everyone on how to "explain our beliefs on 1914".
then another 15 min part called "a tool to help us explain our beliefs about 1914".

"You never made Jehovah REAL to you"
by Black Man inthat was a statement from my dyed-in-the-wool jw pioneer mother in trying to analyze why i faded and left the jws.
my answer was to say: "if i have to make something real to me, chances are it wasn't real to begin with.

Far from it,
I wrote down who I thought Jehovah was, to summarise I pictured a fatherly, just, loving god awaiting the time to do good. I then re-read the bible with the one and only purpose of focusing on who god was.nI didn't find the god we had been sold. I found a vicious, jealous, petty, angry, unworthy charachter that was no god.
That version of jehovah we all imagined as we said prayers or felt vulnerable IS NOT IN the bible at all. I found a god that commanded genocide, infanticide, rape, slavery, sexism, rasicm, war......... This helped me with regard to guilt feelings and fear, I would never, ever bow to a human that behaved like this, much less defend one, worship one....give my life to one!
The REAL jehovah has not been made known to any of us..... because we would instantly reconsider our alliance with such a charachter.
Christopher Hitchens is irreplaceable, as he said. "If god asked me to sacrifice my oldest child to prove my faith, I would tell that god to f*** off and face the consequences!"

Regular pioneering is a financial double whammy.
by hoser innot only does it steal your time from earning a living and having personal time, it also costs you real $$$ in fuel vehicle costs and maintainance .

then there is the financial implications to your future, not many businesses are interested in a door to door preacher with soapy water skills.

A unique payment scheme.
Pay now and some time SOON in the future, you will get your product......
100 years later.....
There are two overlapping payment schemes, if you paid into the earlier scheme, your offspring of the same generation will get the product......

Warwick Building Project Fluff Stories
by bruh2012 intalking about an article that makes you want to throw-up in your mouth- wt-study jan 15, 2015 the offered themselves willingly.. amazing the psych job of selling your business, moving your entire family, quiting your job to be a "temporary" worker at the new world headquarters!.
throw your livelyhood away only to get the "feeling" that jehovahs is blessing you!
i wish there was away to track the psych job during patterson and other major projects of what happened to all the "friends" that sold and got rid of their livelyhood then and where are they now.. did you ever sacrifce it all for a building project only to be left with nothing after your "spiritual high"?.

What a waste of time those years were in my life.
Do not waste your time, energy effort and most importantly......YOUR YOUTH......on a corporation you are forbidden to read negative material on.
You know your 'alarm bells' are ringing about the organisation, getting knee deep in its activities to distract yourself from your doubt will only delay your focus. When your attention returns on the inevitible contradictions and concerns, your youth will be gone and the possibility of painful regret will keep you willingly blind. There the vicious circle begins, next you marry a JW and have kids, now you are really stuck and the doubts have multiplied too.
Beware the trap.......
Do yourself a favour and take a weekend off from carrying bricks and do some research.

So impressed with her. I wrote to the charity comission in 2012 about these issues and they were not interested. They have been forced to consider the issue now and sounds like they are shocked at what is going on with tax exempted funding.

University Application Personal Statement dilemma - Should I mention my jw past?
by will-be-apostate ini am applying to chemical engineering course in the uk through ucas (a lot of things changed since i've posted last time).. i have a lot of skills i developed while regular pioneering, like public speaking skills, ability to reason (even if it's bs), presentational skills etc.. i feel it would boost my personal statement a lot, but i'm also afraid they would say "this guy beleives in god, and loves science, he must be creationist.
away with him".. how could i mention that i gave interviews front of thousands of people and did voluntary work in my hometown without giving a bad impression?.
i don't want to go into details and start explaining myself that "however i don't beleive in god", or something like that.

A cartoon to save 1000 words, and how to win a prize if you're clever with captions
by fulltimestudent inthe biblical archeological review journal is running a caption contest.
you have to submit your idea of a snappy caption for this image:.
it's based on proverbs 26:3 which says (in case you no longer own a bible-grin):.

Doctors and surgeons say no to blood transfusions
by Mr Negative inmy mum recently told me that even surgeons won't have blood transfusions, but the common people don't get told this.
i have also seen or heard others say that a bunch of doctors/health officials/surgeons were asked, at some point, if they would accept a blood transfusion and they all said no.
is this true?
