  Do You Think The Mayor of London Is Doing a Good Job?

  I am always in London.

  My family live smack bang in the middle.

  It’s an amazing city, it’s very safe and secure. I have lived and worked/studied in Manchester and Cardiff, spent my youth in Liverpool and now spend a lot of free time in London. It’s very safe, it’s as British as roast dinners and it’s as free as it always was.

  Policing in the UK has gone down the toilet because of the conservative government and the huge cuts to services.

  Alternative facts are for people who want you to see an alternate reality. Do your own research, don’t even believe me, you can only know YOUR motive.

  Has Sadiq done a good job in London? I’d say it was a moderate job. I think he is keeping his head down a little too much as he is eyeing up the Labour leader role. So he is avoiding controversy and in doing so not shaking things up enough. Is he’s bad mayor though? I see no evidence of that.

  Do You Think Many Jehovah’s Witnesses Truly Believe?

  i did for many years even if i had doubts that i would put on the back burner.

  but i thought the majority of witnesses believed, even if they were “weak” in the faith.. obviously, we have elders , pioneers and ministerial servants that are here and they are not true believers.. do you think many jws simply do not believe what they are preaching?

  I think,I can look back at fellow JWs from my past and now realise who wasn’t really fully committed to the doctrines. What is interpreted as ‘not reaching out’ or a little ‘independently minded’ in reality I believe was doubt.

  The urban legends we heard as JWs!

  how often have we heard some sort of sensationalist urban legend as jws?.

  here is an example i was told as a kid:.

  the experience of a sister who knocked on a door and was greeted by a big fierce looking man- intimidating and mean.

  Are there examples of such stories reaching the literature?

  When I was in bethel, a guy invented a story on purpose to mock the obvious absurdity of these stories. He got in trouble for it and 6 months later there was a letter read in the UK about not repeating unofficial stories etc.

  His story went like this.....

  An Australian JW is preaching to a guy on a train in the outback. The guy shows interest and takes a JW leaflet, he doesn’t bother to read it and mid journey throws the tract out of the train window.

  The tract lands in the pouch of a kangaroo. Two days later the kangaroo is captured by an aboriginal hunter who happens across the tract.

  The tribe sit around the fire, enjoying Roo on a stick and read aloud the tract.

  All are converted and became full time outback pioneers.

  This ended up in an email and got passed around. Did it REALLY need clarifying as being a joke!? In JW land.... yes!

  All the Smurf stuff is weird, never heard it in the UK despite being the right age for if. Pals in Australia know the myths of them running around the KH causing havoc lol. I imagine it started in USA.

  The HIV needle thing reminded me that I heard that one.

  The story was that loads of JW kids had a huge beach party, it got out of hand.... alcohol, drugs, sex, 90’s club bangers....lol.... condoms were passed around and things got nasty ..... including people going around injecting HIV to those in attendance. Elders wives were passing this garbage on! It would have been on the news at Ten had it happened!

  Worst one I heard was my friends mum saying that on the radio a spiritualist was answering questions from the host, when asked what message spirits has for mankind, the spiritualist said “ The spirits seem interested in talking about young Jehovah’s Witnesses, they seem obsessed by them”

  This kind of bs lies shows how evil WT and some followers are. Using fear and darkness to brainwash and blackmail the youth into keeping in line through sinister fear. Teaching children that demons have predatory spiritual interest in them is EVIL and amounts to child abuse in my view.

  Drop Off in Mentioning 1914

  videos from the summer jw conventions ("be courageous) show the "urgency" about the end racheted up several notches.

  paranoia rules supreme!.

  curiously, though, very few, if any, statements in the convention program about 1914 and the overlapping generations.

  The doctrines and reasoning behind the dates and how we know we are in the last days are so bizzare, so obviously convoluted and stitched together ..... they know they’d be crazy to repeat them.

  This tells me that the GB know full well, that they are selling BS!

  I grew up in the JW’s from the 80’s and the 1914 date and the scriptures/prophecies and dates to explain it were discussed regularly. It was embarrassingly nonsensical then...... in an internet age it’s a doctrine that would likely WAKE people up itself alone !

  
  

  This is of course ignoring that the original doctrine was based on Russell’s pagan beliefs in Pyramidoligy (Wikipedia search it and HIS name comes up) and that the date 1914 correlated with the length of a corridor in the great pyramid.

  JW Elder quits & sends 900 emails

  an elder in quebec, has just quit as a jw.

  he did so by emailing nearly a thousand jw’s with the explanation for why he and his family are quitting.. i have spoke to him quite a bit, interesting guy.

  he’s quite the loss to wt, he’s an elder with a serious career in chemistry, a professor no less.. catch his story here, apologies if this has already been posted;.

  Anything anti JW is considered apostate. So you either subscribe to their nonsense beliefs or you're apostate! Besides, who gives a flying monkey what they call you, they are a cult with everything wrong about life and the world around us!

  So option 1 is you say nothing and let the WT have all the say..... that’s NOT an option if you want a life in the short years we all have and/or care about family/loved ones still in WT.

  Option 2 you speak up; to who, how, where and when is your choice.

  hey everyone.... i'm new to this but i would like to run my experience with medical marijuana past you.

  i'm 48 years of age and have been in the truth for my whole life.. i suffer from ankylosing spondilitis and have for many many years.

  it's a debilitating form of spinal arthritis and the symptoms of this auto-immune disorder affect more than my spine.

  He’s still awaiting the consequences. Everyone saying it’s an ironically JW approach that he took.... well he was a JW days ago! He’s decided to leave and in style ....he is day 1 exjw. Of course he still thinks that way. My perspective is that he’s braver than most and good on him!
