Why isn't God more responsible in punishing people for not believing
whatever doctrines somebody claims is the "truth"?Because they are stupid or lazy or unspiritual, blah, blah, blah.
No objective logic here: just accept the metaphors, symbolism,
ambiguity, etc. and bet your life on it.The only personal God worth believing in would communicate directly
with each human, telling them what is personally necessary.
It is the ultimate hypocrisy to counsel people to honestly
confront each other discussing personal disputes plainly,

personally, i think its a load of crap.
i don't believe people today should have to pay for the mistakes of their ancestors or that other people should hit the proverbial lottery because of who their ancestors were.

The Civil War was fought over slavery, period. Since it ended,
history books have gradually shifted away from this fact to
avoid offending Southern sensibilities ("The War Between the
States"). Read Lies my Teacher Told me. Consider the quote

the impending obsolescence of the Bible as a source of revelation.
The Bible was written within the context of a large number of
conditions that eventually would be changed by technology, I reasoned,
thus, the New World would have to come quickly to give us a
new revelation ("new scrolls") to guide surviving humanity.Well, too late.
Extreme circumstances such as ending aging (the Biblical threescore
and ten) or living on other planets hasn't happened yet so as to
make the Bible obsolete as an absolute revelation ...but I never thought about the role of women!
While the Apostle Paul refused to allow women to teach or exercise
authority over a man, he lived in a time when women had almost
no opportunity to demonstrate the ability to lead or manage.
(except for a few pagan queens like Zenobia). Our time is different.It is a fact that women can teach effectively - witness any high
school or college. It is a fact that women can manage corporations
(Carly Fiorina) or even a nation at war (Margaret Thatcher).
Not all women, but some - and more all the time as they gain
experience.For a cheery male chauvinist like me, this came as a shock,
but facts are facts. While there are many other examples of
revealed Bible standards/ information fading into irrelevance,

instead, each congregation should have a small box so that publishers could "shoulder their own responsibility by turning in time of their own accord," by voluntarily putting their report slip into this box.
