If they are serious about killing off the "Watchtower" branding, then this makes sense. Ending the Watchtower magazine would make sense, too.

One of the things I realized as an ex-JW is that masses of people are deceived and distracted by sexual mischief/sins while ignoring vastly more harmful wrongdoing in general society. I'm glad gay marriage is now fading as an issue, as there is one less piece of nonsense to distract voters from the oligarchy they're stuck in.
I deeply regret not voting for Bill Clinton. If was President today, my first impulse would be to protest to stay the heck of his personal life.
And Witnesses? Brother Shyster may be involved in all sorts of business wrongdoing without tired elders investigating but god help Sister Welfare's kids if they slip into fornication! The congregation must be kept clean.
Sorry for the rant. There are better priorities in life and I hope others don't need most of a lifetime to realize it.

So, CO's and elders take the fall for the Society, legally speaking? And elders are now completely subservient to the CO? And they may have to harass the congregation about donation pledges? Tell me, how does that work for Public Television?

If you are thinking about "Stepping Down" you better do it QUICK!
by Comatose inthe new arrangement for co's to handle deletions (and appointments) means you no longer will be able to give your friends on the body an excuse and step down.
you will have to answer to the co and most likely have a long uncomfortable chat about everything with him in order to step down.
so if you have been thinking about stepping down, you need to do it quick before the new arrangement..

Demanding itinerant inspectors, no room for creative input, being forced to hound the congregation for donation pledges and more guys quiting -leaving fewer elders to run the show.

THIS SETS THE STAGE FOR THEFT. Make no mistake about it -this will make everything worse for 'loyal' Witnesses.
Why? Consider: suppose your Kingdom Hall has increased in value. The CO can likely sell it off and send the cash to the Society because he has absolute control over the elders. He can appoint or delete anyone he wishes.
Further, it intensifies cronyism and simony - already bad thoughout Witness congregations. It also "derates" the elders in that they are mere servants of the CO. True, Circuit Overseers have been dictatorial frequently but this makes the situation worse.
It will also worsen the quality of elders because COs are going to be tempted to appoint anyone to fill slots, with little or no regard for qualifications. They may as well go back to "Company Servants" as in Rutherford's day, for all this backward move will accomplish.
I have known of congregations that fended off predatory COs by standing together as one. That may be possible now but this will make it more difficult.
Finally, if you have contempt for the Watchtower Society, take heart !! This will accelerate the dissolution of the Organization as the "sheep" are stripped of donations, Kingdom Halls and any remaining hope that things can be reformed.
