It is possible that the whole blood transfusion field could be radically overturned if they succeed in growing universal donor blood in the laboratory from stem cells. This may happen in a couple years.

I have read a number of articulate, seemingly well-reasoned articles on why the US will always dominate the globe and Asia won't.
There is one huge problem with these defenses of US power and position: they ignore the issue of corruption.
Any nation, no matter how many natural advantages it may have, can stagnant into weakness if it fails to control corruption. Look at Africa and (until recent decades) Mexico.
China is far from perfect in this area but I see them continuing to make progress in punishing corruption while the US gets steadily worse. There is a big difference between EXECUTING corporate criminals and NOT EVEN BOTHERING to prosecute them at all.

the watchtower religion is a family destroying cult.
i'm sure many of us know of people who gave their lives to the cult then have nothing and get nothing in the form of help from jw's.. i know a man who gave up a very good job with great benefits many years ago because the watchtower had a conflict with his noble occupation.
of course the end was coming very soon so the man took a meager retirement and quit because of the watchtower.
I knew an elder and his wife who refused to take his dementia afflicted father into his home because 'he had sacrificed enough'.
Remember, if you are a Witness, you can always say, "I have to go out/get time in field service" if you wish to avoid any act of charity.

If true, this information is extremely important. I am forced to say 'if true' because the denials sound too sweeping or broad to be honest.
I would love to hear confirmation of this, if available. Things are changing........who knows?

is this spreading conflict, war, in syria and iraq, inevitable and some argue necessary.. new leaders rising with napoleon size ambitions, old monarchies trying to hold on to power.. religious ideologies and groups challenging one another.
battles for natural resources and redrawing lands and boundries.. are there parallels to wwi and wwii..
I think some of these violent events trend towards long term peace. Why?
First, Iraq needs to break up - it is a colonial invention and the Kurds need their own nation. Set up borders and stop the civil war.
Second, the ISIS people might help 'drain the swamp' all across the world. Wanna be a jihadist? Wanna be a subject of a 14th century caliphate? Head to Iraq right away ( and leave nice countries without your violent/idiotic influence).
Third, China would probably not be an active world hegemon such as the US. In other words, they would be likely to mind their own damn business and not interfere with nations. Bring it on.
Also, China is helping Africa in ways that Western nations have never bothered with. Like rail lines and roads and infrastructure.

Do an analysis of names in Bible accounts - I have not been able to find a well-researched article on this subject.
Why am I interested? Well, do we really think there was a guy named "man of shame" or "foolish" ( David and Abigail) ? Why would an Israelite name his son after an unclean animal? ("Dog").
The goofiness of names in the OT suggests that we are reading a story, a moral lesson rather than history.

in early june, i noted a report in newfocusintl ( a nk watcher news sheet, probably us or sk financed) that the central committee of the korean workers had issued an internal decree stating, abandon the chinese dream!
the statement was apparently isued revealed to higher ranking party cadres.
i knew there seemed to be internal debate in nk over china's encouragement to move to a market based economy and that were some signs in nk of that happening.

It appears to me that this subject raises a few questions:
1) how could they be so breathtakingly stupid? There are people who watch the WTS and report their wrongdoing with eagerness. I know there are Bethelites who are aware of this and lament about it. This sort of thing is astonishingly dumb.
2) Where the h*ll is the Graphics/Art Dept.? Are they lazy? Untalented? Incapable? They are forced to steal graphics and Photoshop them?
3) Dearly departed 'Farkel' pointed out (as I recall) several examples of this copyright violation by the Society - so this is not an isolated incident. Who do you have to sleep with at Bethel to get away with this nonsense and still keep your job? What do you think would happen at a 'worldly' corporation if they did this? Fire somebody, perhaps?
4) How unbelieveably cheap are they? There are graphics services that can supply images that are legal - why do they insist on ignoring copyright law? Is this evidence of raw arrogance?
