Duh, again!

Who thinks living in China or Russia is a picnic? That's not the point! BALANCE is the point.

The US talks about human rights while creating wreckage and failed states that are worse than the dictatorships that got overthrown. The world would be better served by China - who openly proclaim they don't get involved in nations internal affairs.

Does anyone understand that "absolute power corrupts absolutely"? That having a multipolar world might prevent criminal foolishness like the war with Iraq? What a wonderful success that turned out to be! And the Opium crop in Afghanistan is just amazing these days.

Saying that Palestinians could have peace whenever they wish is absurd unless capitulation is what you call "peace". The solution is a fully democratic state of Israel/Palestine without apartheid. Did the US go thru this sort of struggle with civil rights, years ago? Was it called "segregation"?

I never thought this site was exclusively devoted to pure negativity against the Watchtower. My apologies on misunderstanding that!

Would be the possiblity of world peace be something trivial? Do we abandon this hope along with the cult?

And the Israelis? Are you joking? Are you aware of the Israeli lobby's efforts to get the US to start yet another war - with Iran? That they tried to get 70 Senators votes (Menendez-Kirk bill) to derail peace talks with Iran (not my characterization, what the White house said) ?

Is the movement to sanction Israel as an apartheid state now entering the mainstream - outside of Muslim influence? Has the US Secretary of State warned them that this is happening?

Who is the primary teacher and exporter of jihadist terror in the world? Not Iran...... it's Saudi Arabia (supposed ally of the US)

Why are 3 Congressmen demanding that the government declassify 28 pages on Who Is Responsible For 9/11? Because they were shocked and appalled by its contents - rumored to identify Saudi Arabia as the direct culprit.

War after war after war and endless suffering in the Middle East - caused by religious extremists in Islam and Zionism - and their troublemaking. Add to this the heartless greed of the US military-industrial complex (Thank you, President Eisenhower for saying what needed to be said) - now trying to start yet another pointless war with Russia.

Are we, on this board, capable of understanding what religious-based exclusion and hate can cause?

I love this stuff because it suggests how world peace could be established by putting restraints on the three biggest warmakers on earth: the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia. It's not about some 'lovey-dovey' crap about loving humanity. It's about establishing a proper balance in the world.

i have some questions about nathan knorr, the third president (1942-1977) of the wtbts.

accurate answers are welcome.. 1) how did it come about that knorr was made president of the wtbts in 1942 after the death of joseph rutherford?

rutherford as we know was an usurper inheritor of russell's wtbts in late 1916 after russell went to his reward.

Announcement to print from JW.ORG in service meeting

yes, you read that correctly.

last night during the service meeting, the cobe gave an announcement that we should start printing or using jw.org for any special literature such as the daily text, the yearly calendar, etc... he also mentioned to please cancel any orders of the wt and awake on cds because no one is picking them up and they are piling up.. .

my question is, where did this elder get this info from?

If it is true that they aren't going to print calendars and the daily text.........

it may be a huge change! Bigger than anything else! Consider this:

Religions are about habits. Muslims have their 5 times prayer. Mormons have special underwear. Catholics have weekly Mass. These things maintain religious identity

The Watchtower is no different - with 10 hours a month, attending all the meetings, and so on.

The calendar reminds Witlesses about Memorial bible reading, weekly field service etc. The daily text is also a daily reminder of Witness identity. The dismissal of these speaks volumes.

Simply dumping this stuff on publishers to print off suggests much more than "simplification" or even downsizing. It suggests abandonment. It says "we don't have a long term interest in maintaining this cult. Those days are over. Devil take the hindmost". This completely contradicts the 'do more', the 'end is very near' BS gushing from the GB.

If this was a poker game, this looks like a huge "tell" to me - as if someone is going to quit the game.

OTOH, you might argue that this could be the opinion of a faction within the Organization. I would counter that, if so, it apparently is the dominant faction at present.

Something Big is Coming...

the annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.

"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.

all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

I think necessity should be given priority over all other considerations.

To me, there is no compelling necessity to change the 144K thing. OTOH, there are compelling reasons to change the "ministry" radically - and they seem to be laying the groundwork for it in obvious ways.

The global door to door work generates nothing of significant value. The magazines are a waste of newsprint relative to cult goals.

Not only that but the door to door work coupled with the magazines is an eventual liability. Some court somewhere someday will connect volunteers, offering official magazines as creating a link to 'deep pockets'.

Beyond all this, I would go out on a limb to suggest that they are simply liquidating the organization while cynically exploiting the publishers - whom they no longer need (except as donators) "Goodbye and Thanks for all the fish.........."

So, I see big change originating related to the above

Note to Bethel Monitors!:

If this discreet change is real and truthful, it is excellent. However, if this involves yet more lies about blood transfusion, it is very short-sighted and will only cause more harm to the Organization. There was significant embarrassment at Paterson after the Bulgarian Blood scandal was exposed.

Let it go. End this costly mess. If this is done in steps, it will succeed and five years from now, some Witnesses will actually say, "what blood ban?'

To the rest I say that true compassion is not without cost. As much as I would wish revenge, it is best that no more innocent lives are lost, especially children.
