1) john presents a jesus who is totally different from other gospels.
2) johns claim of jesus being partial to him undermines jesuss own teaching (mathew 5:44-48).
3) johns claim of first miracle (changing the water into wine) and the last (or most spectacular) miracle of resurrecting lazarus are not known to earlier gospel writers---something impossible for them to miss!.

The "bad Greek" problem of Revelation gets brushed off out of a sense of piety and attempts to avoid criticizing a 'holy' book. The difference between the Gospel of John and Revelation may suggest that he had a poor command of the language and later, improved his ability.
It's amazing how 'human' the Bible actually is but it gets hidden.

It's a train of sentence fragments connected by the word "and".
Once you know this, reading Revelation can drive you nuts. ( 'and.....and..... and....and...')

everybody buys a tablet.
even the poor families that eat carb heavy meals are gettin' em.. maybe they can't afford the latest apple product like the maxi/mini pad or whatever they're calling it these days so a trip to ebay or overstock.com fills the bill.. use it instead of a songbook.
I think it is unlikely that any great number of Witlesses will investigate 'apostacy'. That would require critical thought or logic.
OTOH, I see this as drift towards ever greater superficiality. Eventually, who needs magazines or even meeting attendance? It's all online.

they will disturb even longtime jws who haven't surrendered all rational thought.
it's become so cult like its scary.
To be fair, we could be observing an internal movement in which various factions vie for the enforcement of their views. There have been such internal struggles before.
Long term, compromise is inevitable because Witlesses are becoming ever more phoney and lazy and passive-aggressive ( and broke).
We can hope they end up as a nice burned out Protestant sect such as Methodists (bring a dish to pass) or maybe Adventists.

the annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.
"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".
I'm thinking about DF'ing as an explicit process. They could dump JC's and announcements and most record keeping and still shun people ( nudge, nudge, wink, wink style).
