The leaks from the new November Watchtower are alarming. They will disturb even longtime JWs who haven't surrendered all rational thought. It's become so cult like its scary. I've had a theory for the last 6 months that they intend to drive out fringe JWs, which would allow them to contract/shrink the organization. Then they could sell off real estate and further cut costs. The remaining JWs would all be hardcore devotees.
Is the Watchtower Intentionally Trying to Force People to Leave the Organization?

You may be right NHM. I just got done looking over the whole issue. I am shaking and feel sick to my stomach. I dont think I can take anymore. I believe what you said is true because in my case, a meeting attender who knows TTATT, this may cause me to never return. Look out for the audio of my upcoming JC. I know it is coming.

I'd advise "Unbelieving Mates" to suggest a LOOONG vacation through November mid-January. Any sort of distraction from that month's articles.

The GB remind me of Adolf Hitler before his demise..

I also suggested this idea more recently, in my RC summary thread. Despite that, it was just a passing fancy and I don't really know if I believe that the Society would do this on purpose. If you look back in the literature at how they were behaving in the years leading up to 1975, or the things they wrote in the '50s (still the most cultish material I've read from the Society), I think it's likely that this mindset comes around in cycles.
Anyway, I don't really know if I'm going to be able to attend the meetings where this is studied because I might lose my self-control and give a comment that I'll regret later.

I haven't been mentally out long enough to tell how much of my shock at the latest developments is simply due to my being fully awake to TTATT now, but it definitely seems as though they're trying to push the fence-sitters out.
If they are, it makes sense to get rid of the dead weight folks who probably don't contribute, and just take up space and waste literature (that they're trying to phase out anyway). The fence-sitters cost them money since they have to build KHs to house them and get nothing back. If they get rid of all the fence sitters, they stand to make billions from selling off KHs and they probably won't lose much in the way of contributions.
Hopefully some folks who've been observing objectively for longer than my few months will chime in and give their thoughts as to whether the current propaganda represents a bigger than usual push or just the latest peak in cyclic activity.

I cannot imagine how crazed the "true believers" will become after they read this. They will grow even colder and crazier.
KHM is right. These articles will have a 2 pronged effect
1. They will expose apostates and drive out fencesitters who cannot handle the extreme tone the WT is increasingly taking.
2. It will further radicalize the remaining "loyal, obedient, braindead" JWs who hang onto their every word.
For those of us still in, we better get out now because it will only get more difficult the longer we wait.

Not likely. There's really nothing new in there - it's just appearing in concentrated form.
If they want to shed fence-sitters (which may be their aim), I think they'd have to come up with something new & exotic.

They will call it a "sifting" or "a refining".
At our DC two or three years ago, Samuel Herd made the comment, quite enthusiastically: "This organization's about to ROCK!" He didn't explain anything about it, but I think we've been seeing some of this ROCKING.

Perhaps they are trying to make sure there are no closet apostates in the bunkers when the persecution comes...
