Guys, let's consider what events got us to this thread
Contributions have been slack for a long time. That's why they keep cutting and cutting and laying off. It appears to be getting worse because now they must cut assembly days 'cause the friends are broke!
That's the plain reality and no amount of talk about how loyal/stupid/suckered Witnesses are in obsequious servitude to the Grand Masters Of Time And Space (The Governing Body) changes that.
It's easy to get caught up in polemics when facing organized fanatics such as this. The reality is that much of their fanaticism is just to be seen and observed, not unlike the Pharisees. The Grand Deceivers at HQ know, for example, that many -perhaps most- Witnesses will compromise on blood transfusion if left alone, unobserved and confronted with medical authority. I can give you examples of total Trainwreck Witnesses who were weak/lousy examples (or inactive) but still wouldn't take blood as observed and known about.
Another point: don't get caught up in the stupid happy talk that misleads the dolts at HQ. For example, when the 'voluntary donation arrangement' came about there were rumors that the Society's advisers thought that money would flood in! They said that they would get paid twice - from donations from the public PLUS cash put in the contribution box by helpful publishers.
Instead, the whole arrangement was an immediate disaster. Likewise with food service at assemblies. Guess what folks? Communism really doesn't work!
Wiser heads at HQ might realize that this surveyed/enforced donation move is a sign of desperation. I'll keep watching and waiting for the end of printed magazines and unpaid local CO's.......

Easy Peasy - if you've told us everything critical
1) you are suffering from depression. Other chronic conditions work too but depression offers an alternative explanation for stuff you've said.
2) Send a card to your ex that is all sweetness and light. Wish her well and tell her wonderful she is..... and Goodbye.
3) attend a congregation far away from your ultimate location for a few months. Turn in some time for a while and then disappear. Wait for your publisher record card to arrive at the Cong. Secretary's house. Then vanish and leave no forwarding.
This stuff should cover most of your trail.

Emeth, what should be done with the congregations that don't come across with their pledged money?
Should they remove the elders? Demand that they personally make up the difference? Should they shut down the congregation? Cut off magazines and literature shipments?
You should think about these matters because they are certain to happen.

What problem is that? Publishers are becoming WORTHLESS to the Watchtower Society. They are depressed, unproductive, sick and broke. Their free labor in dispensing books and magazines has become a liability in many areas. The Watchtower might as well print their crap and just truck it to the landfill.
So, are they getting ready to screw the friends over and squeeze out the last few dollars of these hungry and bleeding sheep?
It sure looks that way when you consider how badly they've treated their immediate lackeys. I mean, it's fairly easy to mistreat some suckers out in distant congregations but laying off DO's and long term Bethelites gets a bit personal, doesn't it? If you screw over these guys, how difficult can it be to ream publishers out in the South Nowhere Congregation?
In summary, it looks to me like some of you who have predicted a trimming down of the Organization (lose the losers, keep the suckers with open wallets) in terms of publisher numbers could turn out to be right.

Ever heard of the form 302 scam?
Here's how it works: a couple FBI agents have a "casual" conversation with someone - while one of them takes notes. Next thing you know, the person is prosecuted and sent to prison for a felony - lying in court or lying to a Federal officer.
You see, they can write down anything they want and then claim you said it. Attorneys will tell you never, never, never talk to any Federal agent without a lawyer. The FBI (years ago) issued specific instructions not to record these conversations - just their form so they can threaten the 'victim' later.
This has been published in the Boston Globe and Forbes magazine. I hesitate to post links because they have proved to be infected with malware sometimes (hint, hint)

OMG! Fantastic! Wonderful! I couldn't be happier! Why?
Think about how this will likely play out: You will have a$$-kissing sycophant elders commit their congregations to donations they can't or won't support. Next, the elder body will get stuck begging the congregation to contribute! Month after month after month!
How do I know? Because I was on an elder body that did this sort of BS all the time. If the CO called for 10 new Bible Studies as a goal, they answered,"why not 30 new studies, Brother KGB?' - and then did nothing.
In time, Witnesses will tire of being nagged for money. This looks like a clever ploy by the Society to 'pass the plate', in effect while claiming that they are innocent. It can only help to create more dissatisfaction and disaffiliation. Great!
