it really works and this is proved by the fact we are out of the food chain dominating all other species.. however, be warned!

This describes how my daughter was treated before she became baptised. Then she found out about the Australian Royal Commission into child sex abuse from several sources. She approached the pioneer sister who studied with her to baptism. She was speechless. We can only surmise that said pioneer was closed down by the elders, because she never "got back to her". This left my daughter floundering. She suffered terribly, and decided to disassociate herself. That was traumatic in the process. She's getting there.

She found out the true personalities of quite a few in her KH after this. Be very careful before you commit, because it is not what it appears to be. I can say this because I gave 32yrs of my life to this cult.

Totally Out Of Place, But I Didn't Realize It!

as a jw, i did fit in, but i didn't belong (like the picture above).

i was oblivious to this as a kid & in my teenage years, but i realized this subsequently after leaning ttatt & when trying to fade.

i did not belong!.

When I learned TTATT & started to fade, everything fell apart. The friends I thought I had were NOT friends in a true sense. Apart from "the truth," there was nothing much we had in common! Once you are not into "spiritual things," that was it. I couldn't relate to them, & neither could they relate to me! Conversations were shallow, superficial, & awkward.It became extremely difficult to carry on any conversation with them! Such a big difference compared to my "worldly" friends who I can freely converse with at ease about almost any topic imaginable!

So very succint. You've just verbalised my internal struggle. And I was baptised at 27! It's nearly a year since I attended my last meeting. Boy doesn't time fly when you're having fun.

I heard a man of the cloth discussing mothering Sunday on BBC radio 2 on Friday. It was initiated by the church to free children one day a year to spend precious time with their mothers because of the way children were used in service/ employment/coal mining etc. I've never heard that before and I found it sweet. It had nothing to do with venerating humans as far as this priest was concerned.

Car crash

boy who was seriously injured in a collision at gamlingay in cambridgeshire last thursday has died.. nine-year-old archie stevens, of western way, sandy, bedfordshire, died in hospital early on saturday afternoon.. the collision at about 10am in drove road, which involved two cars, also resulted in the death of his grandfather, 68-year-old martin harker, of green acres, sandy, who died at the scene.http://www.itv.com/news/anglia/update/2016-02-22/nine-year-old-boy-dies-after-cambridgeshire-crash/.

the boy and his grandfather were jehovahs witnesses and they were on field service when a car drove into them.

the lad, who is the son of an elder who moved to a cambridge congregation to serve where the need is greater, was on life support before the sad decision was made to turn it off.

Checked online, his wife's name was Anna. It was him. They were a really nice family. This is too sad. His was the first time I'd ever used an answer machine. He complimented me on being confident when using it. Me being Scottish laughed, and said " it's got nothing to do with confidence. I wasnt going to waste 10p and a trip to the phone box " . How we chuckled at people's perceptions of national stereotypes.

OMG, I used to be in the Biggleswade congn., and I'm sure Martin Harker was an elder there back in the late 80's.

THE LINGERING SHADOW OF '75

none of you are old enough to have been there, i suspect.

i had been in prison two years as a jw conscientious objector when the exciting news about 1975 spread like wildfire.i was paroled from prison in 1969 and immediately began pioneering.

the pressures began mounting throughout the organization.

OMG Terry, such a sad consequence when 1975 happened. You write so eloquently. To endure so much, then brace yourself for what comes next, or what you believed to come. My oh my!

I was married in 1975, and lived amongst jw's. My hubbie and I grew up knowing 1975 and had many debates about their prophecy. We felt under great pressure to commit; so just backed away. Fast forward to 1983/84 and I began a serious study. The regular pioneer I asked about the 1975 debacle was openley honest in her talks with me. I shelved under "leave it for Jehovah to sort out ". When I moved to another part of the UK it was verboten to speak of this. And as time went by c/o' s and elders acted like it was rogue overseers' who fomented this teaching.

My " leave it Jehovah file" grew to fat and burst. And I had a WTF moment!
