London Bethelites Are Agitated!
by The Searcher ina source has informed me that a relative who's in london bethel has said that a number of bethelites there are very uncomfortable and embarrassed because the branch has received "quite a few letters" querying why members of the governing body were wearing flashy rings and jewellery on some of the monthly broadcasts, but on the broadcast when the g.b.
asked for more money from the congregations - their gold and jewellery was not on display!.
will probably emerge one day wearing sackcloth, begging for yet more donations..

AMBULANCE CHASERS
by azor injust have to vent as this has been commented on before.
some of you know about my son's condition and how he almost died had it not been for the transfusion he received.. my wife took him to the children's hospital for routine labs and pain in his leg.
on the way in she saw a jw cart right outside the outpatient exit.

The Paranormal
by Peony ini'm interested to know if anyone has been to see a medium/clairvoyant since leaving jw's.
i must admit now i can make my own choices i seem to have a fascination with it although haven't acted on it as a) am i just jumping into believing another load of rubbish?
and b) what if it really is the demons pretending to be loved ones!!

Illuminated - the meduims I used to join back in the mid-eighties were far from normal. I kid you not. They freaked me out. That same one dismissed me from my private reading and told me I upset her. She said my aura was impenetrable-wtf. Said also I caused her to shake. Cue the scripture I think in James that says the demons tremble at Jesus' name that the older jw's showed me.
At the moment I'm all at sea were beliefs are concerned. I'm just coming out of the fog. At my aunt's funeral some of her friends from the church of parapsychology attended. One was a warlock, swishing his cape all over the place. You're all correct. A shower of charlatans.
Years ago there was a famous hypnotist visited Edinburgh. The whole audience except me went under. This post has taught me my instinct was trying to tell me something. It's only taken me 35yrs to acknowledge this.

Money, Money, Money...and Money, Money, Money
by The Rebel ini made a post of this, but feel it warrants a thread.
in central london ( paddington) the " property management company" we refer to as jehovers witnesses, bought a church building, which is now a kingdom hall, but with the outside appearance of a church.. i got an explanation from bethel " it's just a building".
well let's give the organisation credit for its business sence.

Rebel - Hi,
There's an elderly wealthy sister in the congn I've just became inactive from. She's in her late70's. Her non-jw hubbie is approx. 10 yrs. older and is in poor health. She intimated to me the she was going to speak to the elders re. her estate in the event that she survived her spouse. She's no family etc.
I remember thinking it made my blood run cold. My eyes weren't open then, and I didnt know ttatt, but it didn't sit right then.

truthseeker 100. Humour seems to be cathartic atm. Your post reminds me of a billboard advertising Clairvoyant/medium meeting tonight at 7:30. Then a big banner across it saying "cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances" -

Peony. I followed the wt blurb on demons hook, line and sinker. I noticed you too are from the UK. Can I please suggest you google mumsnet classics. There's a thread on really woooo stuff. I'm really sceptical. But this thread left me aarrrggghhhh. Won't visit loo in middle of night without lighting up the upper floor like Blackpool illuminations. I'm now convinced there's more out there than we can explain. Dont be freaked out by my experiences. You must convince yourself. -

Peony. Hi, I'm new like you. I was involved with the paranormal before becoming a jw. My aunt was a high level medium ??wtf. I had really terrifying experiences when I started studying. I would go to the church of parapsychology with said aunt to have one-on-one consulations, and I would freak the mediums out. They were unaware I was studying. They would try to hold my head in their hands, and land up throwing me away from them like I was electrifying them. You know like John Travolta in Grease "It's electrifying". They told me they couldn't speak to me because I was now "walking with God". This convinced me I was doing the right thing.
It's your voyage of discovery, but be very careful. Take care.
