DO YA MISS "THE SWEET FELLOWSHIP"?
by minimus inone of the major reasons that a disfellowshipped or disassociated person has for coming back to "jehovah's organization" is that perhaps they will miss the "sweet fellowship".
after hearing comments regarding the km article on how to treat disfellowshipped ones, i must wonder why anyone of sound mind would think a disfellowshipped person would miss anything from the organization.
viewing persons as "dead" while out of the organization would not make one feel anxious to return to jehovah's loving arrangement through the organization.whoever coined the term about missing "the sweet fellowship" was pretty clever.

Gee, I've been so busy weeping and gnashing my teeth for the past 9 1/2 years - I hadn't noticed!
Lessee...did I miss:
Waking up at 5:00 am to do "street witnessing", on the way to my full-time job - then rushing from my job to a bookstudy or Service meeting?
How 'bout missing the TMS overseer asking me to "take the #2 talk, because Bro. So & So can't make it - almost every week?
Or, do I miss the gossip, the back-stabbing, the snubbing, the snickering, the pettiness (and I'm just talking about the MS's & elders, here!)?
Did I miss the "sweet fellowship" of Brother Ancient regaling me with stories about the "Good Ol' Days", when women and "colored folks" knew their place?
Or being awakened by a phone call every other Saturday morning, because whoever was assigned to lead the group from my Bookstudy group couldn't make it, every other week?
Hmmm... uh, that would be a resounding "NO!!!"

Oprah Awards $50,000 to Silent Lambs
by abbagail inah ha!!
now that i got your attention.... well, oprah hasn't yet awarded $50,000 to silent lambs, but she very well could if enough of us "nominate" silentlambs (bill/sheila/joe/barbara, et al) for oprah's "use your life award.
" any regular oprah-watchers will know what i'm referring to; that during the season, she presents various individuals (on monday's show each week) with this award for their service to their cause (along with the big fat check)... .

YOU KNOW sez:
No doubt everyone appreciates the rooming "arrangements" and all, but if individual silent lambs wish to stay at the Waldorf, for instance, instead of the officially approved accomodations, will they be viewed as disloyal to the Silent Lambs Borganization?
Normally, I would just ignore your comments, but considering the purpose of the march and all the victims that have suffered because of the same attitude that you hold - I just could not.
Your comments are beyond "inappropriate" - they are insensitive, mean-spirited, and try to take attention away from the very serious issue that's being addressed by Bill Bowen and those of us who support his efforts. You may criticize all you want - but Mr. Bowen and those who seek justice have more guts than you, sitting at your computer, blithely writing comments such as these. WE will be out on the street, facing down those that would rather sweep this issue under the carpet - which is more than I can say for you. Step down from your self-made ivory WatchTower, and join the fight against this horrible injustice. How can you ignore the cries of the innocent, the thousands of victims of sexual abuse at the hands of JW predators?

WT Speaks Out On Apostasy
by stevieb1 inthe following quote is taken from the september 15, 2002 edition of the watchtower, p.16-18:.
"in the first century, such individuals as hymanaeus, alexander, and philetus, were advocating ideas that did not fit "the pattern of healthful words.
" (1 timothy 1:18-20; 2 timothy 2:16,17) how could the early christians avoid being led astray by apostates?
-
Michael3000
And instead of questioning God's Word, how much wiser it is to have the attitude of the first-century Beroeans who examined the Scriptures closely! (Acts 17:10,11) Then, let us act on what we learn, turning down false stories and clinging to the truth.
Sickening.
Of course, in reading the above, questioning the Society = "questioning God's Word".
Such pathetic losers! I CANNOT WAIT until the march on the Tower, Sept 27!!! I'll be there, on my bike, with banners!!! (I'm open to ideas on those, by the way).

Paragraph 9 REALLY clashes with this gem:
Do you shun former members?
Those who simply leave the faith are not shunned. If, however, someone unrepentantly practices serious sins, such as drunkenness, stealing, or adultery, he will be disfellowshipped and such an individual is avoided by former fellow-worshipers. Every effort is made to help wrongdoers. But if they are unrepentant, the congregation needs to be protected from their influence. The Bible clearly directs: "Remove the wicked man from among yourselves." (1 Corinthians 5:13) What of a man who is disfellowshipped but whose wife and children are still Jehovah's Witnesses? The spiritual ties he had with his family changes, but blood ties remain. The marriage relationship and normal family affections and dealings can continue. As for disfellowshipped relatives not living in the same household, Jehovah's Witnesses apply the Bible's counsel: "Quit mixing with them." (1 Corinthians 5:11) Disfellowshipped individuals may continue to attend religious services and, if they wish, they may receive spiritual counsel from the elders with a view to their being restored. They are always welcome to return to the faith if they reject the improper course of conduct for which they were disfellowshipped.
