Tabloid predictions for 2003
by whyhideit ini was in the check stand at the local grocery store this evening, and the tabloids had their annual predictions for 2003. so i thought i would give a few of my own.
feel free to add, and at the end of the year we can see if any of them come true.
by the way, saying that war with iraq is coming is to obvious.

Weird and unusual Kingdom Halls
by Junction-Guy indoes anyone here have any experiences with any unusual kingdom halls, such as architecture, location and furnishings.
in eaton ohio there was a small kingdom hall that sat next to the railroad tracks and everytime the train went by it shook the building.
in salyersville ky there was a small kingdom hall in a storefront buliding, no sound system and they had a kerosene heater at the back of the hall.

Where I grew up - Interlachen, Florida - we used to rent the town hall for meetings, before we built our own KH. The Town Hall was a basic cinder block rectangular building, with a concrete floor - cold in the winter (even for Florida) & no A/C, so we sweltered in the summer, with just 3 or 4 stand-alone box fans to push the fetid, humid air around. One fan motor had a "hum" to it, & I used to hum along with it - matching the pitch of the motor with my voice. This would give a kind of "stereo" hum effect, & drive people to distraction! One of my favorite KH pastimes was to see how long I could do this without my folks catching me. What a life!

I got an e-mail for a long-lost dub friend
by Mackin inthere is this woman i used to correspond with back in my dub days but lost contact with several years ago.
anyway just the other day she sent me an e-mail out of the blue.. she wanted to know if i was "in" or "out" as she was planning a trip to australia and if i was still "in" possibly we could meet (obviously i would have to travel to oz).
she had heard i wasn't going to the meetings any more.. i replied that i was definitely not "in" any longer but that i wasn't da'd or df'd and if she wanted to read my story i provided her a link to my story on this site.

WELL, the next day I had a brief and very curt message back from her that since I was obviously now an apostate she wanted nothing more to do with me and that she was going to delete all the e-mails I had ever sent her as well as destroy the gifts I had sent years ago that she still had. And she was going to delete any references to my e-mail address on her system. As far as she is concerned I am now dead. So even though I have not been DF'd, she has decided to shun me anyway.
Same kind of "Christian love" that my family shows towards me! Sad, really. But, there are always surrogate family members to help take up the slack. Glad I'm "out", too! Sheesh - almost 10 years, now - not once have I gnashed my teeth!

Welcome! Many of us were where you are right now - including me. Here is a web site that helped me quiet those nagging little voices:

My First Post - OK, I'm In Now.
by TheItalian ini apologize in advance for the length.
when i finally resolved myself to choose a nick, after a year and a half spent as an infamous lurker, i very likely thought to be the only one from this vaticanland interested in this weird net-place and its inhabitants.
but yesterday i found out it's not this way.

Benvenuto, J J !
From a fellow Italian (OK - only on my Dad's side - Mom's German; now THAT was an Axis of Evil, I tell I ya!). Where in Italy do you reside? Don't answer, if you think you'll get in trouble. My paternal grandparents came from the Malfa provence on the island of Salina, just northwest of Sicily.
Again, welcome to the board, now as a non-Lurker.

Question for Americans
by bay64me in.
i have just got the address of an old friend that moved to the states some time ago.. is the name frederick a town?
and do the letters md, in the post code mean anything?.

Yes Maryland is quite large. It is considered a suburb of Washington DC.
...and folks wonder why Americans are so bad at geography!
Maryland is a state unto itself: Washington D.C. is a district, crammed between Maryland, Virginia & Delaware. My wife is from Baltimore, Hon.

I Want to Paint a Portrait of Comforter, but...
by Stephanus in...i've run out of yellow!
lol.
actually, i do have something left called "lemon yellow hue", which has the chemical name "nickel titanate".

My aunt painted her unit the Lemon Yellow colour on the top left there.
Hey, Prisca - I painted my unit Yellow once; but my wife didn't like it. She said if she wanted to be violated by a fruit, she'd buy some of those Richard Simmons exercise videos!

by Jesika ini don't know if everyone knows, but my boyfriend (alex) bought me a health club membership for my birthday(i asked for one).
so, the package deal he got was a buy 1yr get 2 free deal including 5 free personal training sessions.
well, the first one was easy---------------measurements,weighing in,goals, new diet, and so forth.

Michael3000
Well, Jessika - at the risk of sounding like a perv - I did meet you at the Silent Lambs march in Brooklyn last year, and... you are quite a cutie and I'd guess that whatever your training goals are, you don't have far to go! Good luck with everything.
