It's despicable how the WT uses the scriptures to say whatever they want to say. The contradiction you brought to light shows that the scriptures can easily be twisted to support almost any human viewpoint.

Will the GB be humble and recognize that those " opposers" were right that said that the real fds was the GB? Of course not! How about re-instating those df'd in the 80's for stating that the GB are the real ones in charge and not the rest of the 144k or those "opposers" who clearly spoke out that the generation of 1914 was not the generation Jesus was speaking about?

The real issue here is not the truth but to believe and accept whatever the GB says what the truth is. Any thinking JW will come to realize that JW's are not allowed to follow the Bible but only the interpretations of the GB.

If God directed the GB with this new light, how is it possible that others knew about it some 30 yrs ago and yet were labelled apostates? Who guided them?

Its upsetting how the WT has been able to quash this story and keep vital facts from the media. The person that did this was an ACTIVE ELDER appointed by the WT. He had strongly opposed the new KH being built and there was tension and strife between the body of elders. The elder was with his group cleaning the KH. He waited for the group to leave and when alone, parked his vehicle away from the KH and brought several cans of gasoline which he poured in the auditorium. He then went to the bathroom where he shot himself. The elders did not give him a funeral service. The rumor was that he had stopped taking his medication for the past 3 months. The congregation name is Oak Grove. i This story has been deliberately kept secret as to avoid repraoch upon Gods Organization. Just like the Jonathan Holt story who killed a fellow JW member after raping her.

How can one understand unusual personal experiences such as when going from door-to-door?

given that i know how corrupt, dishonest and evil the watchtower is, i have wondered how to understand a personal experience i had many years ago - long before walking out mid-2009.. after an unusual series of many "co-incidences" on a particular sunday, my friend and i ended up at the door of someone who had been praying to god for someone to be sent to him, and who was expecting us.. i am still convinced it was by divine intervention, but cannot understand why a prayer is answered by sending representatives of an apostate organisation.. also when taking up residence in a foreign country, under very difficult circumstances, i twice ended up "inadvertently" moving in to homes just around the corner from the kh.

on one occasion it was about a 15 metre walk from my front door right into my seat in the kh!.

have you had similar experiences?.

With 8 million cult members knocking on doors they are bound to interrupt people sleeping, eating, watching tv, having sex and yes even praying. If anyone interprets that interruption as divine intervention then why would God bother to send cult members at your door but not hear the billions of prayers a day for cancer cure, stopping hunger, the thousands of murders and rapes that will take place that day?

Does it make sense that god (if he exist) would send people to your door that are false prophets, deny Jesus mediatorship to all, demand blind obedience to 8 men in Brooklyn, and disfellowship members that dont believe their outrageous claims?

We see and hear what we want. JW's tend to be superstitious

Oklahoma Tornados

i was listening to the horrible news about the tornado damage in oklahoma, and especially about the elementary school that collapsed and the kids that are feared to be trapped.

so this 72 year-old man was interviewed.

he said he wasn't afraid and had told his wife that the lord would protect them.

The bathtub saved him not God. We humans are so desperate for hope and belief that a supreme being watches over us that we invent stupid reasonings.

A poet once said: "If God didn't exist, we'd have to invent him". Maybe we already did.

Maybe Einstein was right by stating that he believed in an intelligent creator but not a Personal God.

Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jesus, Paul and many others had (according to the Bible) God speak directly to them and show them signs heck even giving them power to perform miracles. They believed. Why did God grant them thos signs for them to believe yet we dont get to have that? Does God expect us to believe as they did yet we see no clear direct evidence that God cares about us?

Many will say God speaks to us trough his word. Yet his word is NOT clear. If the Bibles message was clear, there wouldnt be 10,000 different christian religions running around saying they have the correct understanding.

God allows suffering so people can see they need his sovereignty. Thus his sovereignty will be vindicated.

Questions for anyone that buys this:

1. What does this have to do with natural disasters? What are humans to learn by being killed by tornadoes, earthquakes etc? I understand a person dying young because of bad decisions or ignoring bible principles, but what is there to learn by God allowing innocent children, parents to die? How does this vindicate his sovereignty?

2. What about cases where people die in isolated areas where they're not engaging in God defying acts such as drowning, animal attacks. Why doesnt God intervene? How does God vindicate his sovereignty in those cases?

It just doesn't add up. If God does exist as suggested by the order in the universe, perhaps Einstein was right in believing in God but not a Personal God who is interested in his creatures.

for a religion that claims to be "fearless and bold" the watchtower has avoided writing about islam and muslim practices and how they are part of babylon the great.

the attacks on christendom are not a bold move because the "tower" and "gb" know the christian church is not going to send a suicide bomber into a kingdom or district convention.

it's not fair to christendom to receive all the hate speech from the "leaning tower of brooklyn", why don't they write the truth about islam?

I completely agree with arboles de vida. The WT bashes the clergy of christendom, their doctrines and history. The 7 trumpets as explained in the Revelation book were all against the Catholic church. The Live Forever book had pictures of christians and the clergy killing each other. True the WT has witten about Islam but they are not denounced as evil hypocrites and their leaders not mocked as against Christian churches. What has been written about Islam is very tamed and watered down. This in spite of there being more muslims than christians. The WT isnt stupid and they know who to pick a fight with.

Disfellowshipping question for X or Current Elders

i know somebody who got disfellowshipped...they decided to appeal.

how long does the appeal process usually take?

do they ever get overturned?

When someone appeals, the must write a letter stating his disagreement. Then give the letter to the elder who presided. The chairman of the JC then contacts the C.O. asap. The C.O. will then call the most "capable" elders in his circuit to handle the appeal. They will meet with the original JC and all notes given to them along with the DF form S-77. The case is re-tried and witnesses may be called in to testify again. Both comittees must now send their letters respectively to the branch and wait fo the branch to make final decision. The latter procedure is new even if both comittees conclude df was not justiified. The individual is told to wait for final decision from the branch.

I wonder if the elder that was called the night before to help the Jarkas testified in court. Jarka was serving as an elder and was having serious financial problems. His wife confronted him the night before she was murdered about an inapropriate relationship the elder husband Jarka was having with a female member of the only true religion on earth. The discussion was so heated that they called an elder to come and help mediate the situation. He was there as late at 2-3 am. By coincidence, that same morning he went to by milk formula for the children (although there was milk in the house or formula). When he came back someone had killed his wife. Whats upsetting about this case is that the Watchtower policy is NOT to talk to the police especially if elders have information such as a confession from Jarka, where the knife was hidden etc. If the elder in question were to be subpoened to testify, the Watchtower legal department would tell him not to talk and claim ecclesiastical privilege (although WT claims they have no clergy and all are brothers). So this way they not only protect molesters but murderers as well. Sorry I have to go and prepare for service to bring more people to this religion. BTW anyone thats criticizes the Watchtower is mentally diseased and will not receive everlasting life. W.H.Conley

Does The Governing Body Fear Worldwide Exposure Of Their Delusional Bible Interpetations?

i think in the deeper recesses of their minds they know that soon they will be loosing this battle and that some video on youtube will go viral bringing them shame and exposure.. the way i see it, this battle is just starting and is going to get much worse in the future, they are multiplying the number of people willing to expose them by their cruel practice of disfellowshipping used as a form of information control.. people who are waking up to the governing body's deceptions are growing in numbers all the time, and what starts out as a trickle of people leaving can become a flood in time which seems very likely.

as the numbers become greater and greater the more worried they should be, and this is seen in their more merciless treatment of those who no longer beleive their crap, they are willing to do what ever it takes to keep the rank and file in darkness and under their control.

it all spells desparation to me.. .

Its not only the doctrines the GB fears will be exposed, but its history of false prophecies, protecting pedophiles from authorities, its support of Hitlers agenda, the UN scandal, the shady business dealings and marriage of Russell, the hostile takeover of the WT by Rutherford, the Olin Moyle (fomer WT attorney) lawsuit, prohibition of organ transplants (changed in 1980), the prohibition of blood fractions (changed in 2000), prohibition of alternative military service (changed in 1996) and not to mention the NWT alterations to support their doctrines. But keep in mind, if we dont follow them with all that mentioned, we will be labelled evil apostates lacking humility and lose family and friends.
