  i just finished looking through the circuit overseer manual, so here are some highlights.

  first up, regarding circuit assemblies:.

  if a brother is so extremely overweight that others would be distracted if he had a part on the program, good judgment would need to be used in deciding whether to give him an assignment.

  If there is any doubt about an experience, it should not be used.

  Like anything having to do with Andre.

  Of course COs didn't make him up, the Organization did.

  On occasion, circuit overseers have related experiences that were inaccurate or fictitious.

  I wonder where COs learned to do that. The leaders of this religion should take their own advice.

  Don't count on witnessing Watchtower's demise anytime soon.

  the fact that there are pomi ex-jws who have been disfellowshiped or inactive for years who still live in constant fear of armageddon indicates that watchtower will manage to exist in one way or another for years, if not decades, to come.

  watchtower, like all other religious cults, operate on the premise that "you can fool some of the people all of the time...and that's enough!

  yesterday my congregation met for field service and the elder taking the lead did something not so smart: he brought up the child abuse situation and the recent news articles hitting local news across the country.

  he said 'you can see that the persecution is really coming' and that we should be ready if someone complains about it at the door.

  (funny how it's persecution when it's us and righteous judgment when it happens to the other churches.

  My brother in law, who was an elder when the Dateline episode on JW child abuse came out, said the WT instructed them to tell the congregation not to watch it.

  I remember that. At the time someone in my congregation had recorded the episode on a VHS tape. The tape was being passed around and I wanted to watch it. However the talk was given which shut down viewing the tape.

  I didn't know anything about the child molestation issues until many years later when I found the Dateline broadcast, along with others from around the world, on Youtube.

  nbc new york is claiming "attorneys are expected on monday to announce the filing of lawsuits in king's county supreme court against eight members of the governing body of the jehovah's witnesses for alleged child sexual abuse claims.".

  So your post exposes nothing that hasn't been predicted in scripture

  I can't tell if you are being sarcastic in your post or not.

  If you are serious, what you posted from Jude 1 perhaps fits the GB very well, but what is new is that GB members are being sued for the first time, assuming this law suit is real and makes it to trial.

  Attorney Irwin Zalkin had previously said that Governing Body members would be sued in court. Perhaps this is what he was referring to.

  On Friday, attorney Irwin Zalkin held a news conference in Manhattan announcing that two alleged victims, Heather Steele and Michael Ewing, will file lawsuits in state Supreme Court in Brooklyn on Wednesday. The lawsuits will name as defendants eight members of the Governing Body of the Jehovah’s Witnesses (JWs).

  Now located in Tuxedo Park, N.Y., the JWs World Headquarters occupied a building with a large Watchtower sign in Brooklyn.

  “Litigation by the Zalkin Law Firm has exposed a database maintained by the JW containing information about known child molesters within the organization that dates back decades,” according to a news release from the law firm. “The JWs have defied numerous court orders compelling them to produce this database in several of the lawsuits.”

  The History Channel's 'Haunted History' series did an episode on HH Holmes in 2013.

  It's entitled Murder Castle, (Season 1, Episode 3). I stumbled on it completely by accident when channel surfing to see what's on.

  They go heavily into the 'haunted spirits' angle, meaning the ghosts of Holmes victims are still roaming through his hotel in Chicago. This is nonsense to me, but when I hit the channel there was a photo of Holmes on screen that was one of the photos that Terry had posted. What a coincidence. It got my attention immediately and I watched a few minutes of it.
