  JWs Tortured in Russia

  russia is amping up to severe torture for jws.

  i don't think this is appropriate behaviour for anyone..

  Sadly, this kind of treatment is wrong, but it proves that a couple of things about the JW beliefs are misleading.

  1) Romans 8:31 says "... if God is for us, who can be against us?" (NWT)

  Watchtower has quoted this verse in the past when it suited them, for example when they won a lawsuit, implying that since they are 'Jehovah's' witnesses no one can be against them and they can't lose.

  Yet they are banned in many countries and are being severely persecuted at times. Additionally they are not doing so well at winning law suits these days. Obviously God is not with them.

  2) It also disproves their idea about 'the end of the Gentile Times' (meaning the end of 'the times of the nations') which they say happened in 1914 when God's Kingdom started ruling. Their persecution by Hitler and the Nazis in WWII, along with other persecutions including Russia, proves that the nations are still having their way - the Gentile Times have not ended at all and God's Kingdom is not ruling.

  "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" - a small book published in 1920.
  Whose 'fantasy' was that?

  I doubt anyone old enough to read that little literary gem would still be living today. Their shamelessness knows no bounds.

  I'm far from being old enough to have read it in the 1920s myself, but you don't have to google JWs or Watchtower very long to learn about it - and to learn much more about the silly fantasies of JWs from the past.

  Since when does Watchtower have anything to do with "God's will"?

  They read what they want, and they will have nothing to do with apostates, and very quickly you would be detected to be an apostate simply because you disagree with Watchtower and the FDS. Making sense is never an issue with Watchtower.

  Plus, it us WAY too long. I likely agree with some of what you said but I didn't come close to finishing it.

  So Let's Say Bigger Change Happens

  if a change in the blood policy happens, who will be more upset, jws or former jws?

  i suspect the latter.

  when the beard thing went down, jw's seem to immediately embrace it, whereas many former jw's have been brooding about it.. did it take away a pet gripe we had?.

  Again, why would it? It actually confirms what a tremendously bad religion Watchtower is. It simply changes at the whims of it's leaders - it amounts to creature worship. Why would anyone want to return to a religion like that?

  When JW.org drops 607BCE...

  probably everyone else thought of this long ago, but i, being an "independent thunker" thunk of it just a coupla weeks ago.. we all know that since the year zero (on the fredfranzian calendar) the wtb&ts has defied archaeology and insisted that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, even though the physical evidence shows that 587 bce is a more likely date.

  in fact, the book "the gentile times reconsidered: have jehovah's witnesses been wrong all along about 607 bce?

  " by carl olof jonsson and rud persson made this conversation public.. it is a difference of 20 years.

  Sanchy: Could you please list the the names of these "Celebrated WT Scholars"?

  Scholar: The said scholar would like to help you but his understanding is that they wish to remain anonymous akin to the NWT Committee.

  How can 'Watchtower Scholars' be 'celebrated' if no one knows who they are?
