Jehovah is misspelled several times on that page, including in the web address, and written with a lower case j - 'jahovah.' And whoever wrote it used everyone's favorite mispronunciation of the religion's name, 'Jehovah Witnesses.'

Agreed, they'll never "release" it...
...but that doesn't mean it won't come out some day soon.
This is the Information Age, after all.I believe that is dead on. The best chance of having the child molester database revealed is if someone leaks it. So much other information has been leaked over the past several years, it gives hope that it could happen. This is what I'm hoping for.

Thanks Vidiot for the info.
One of the biggest criticisms that Watchtower has had against the Catholic Church, re the pedophile priest issue, is that the priests are not removed as priests but are simply reassigned. If the Jaracz issue is ever proven it would be a huge black eye on Watchtower because it not only reassigned Jaracz, but appointed him to the highest position in the Watchtower organization, the Governing Body.
Not that most JWs would ever be aware of it, since the information they get is so heavily controlled by Watchtower, but some would. The dollar amount of court judgments would would likely go up as well.
I tend to agree with an above comment that Watchtower will never release that database, even when court ordered. They would rather reach settlements with plantiffs. Even if they have to pay high settlement amounts it's better than if the database was known to have Jaracz or other high ranking Watchtower officials' names on it - that would be even more devastating to the Organization on a few levels.

There have been strong rumors for years that Ted Jaracz was removed from his position in the Australian Branch for sexually molesting a child. Years later a woman, in a protest outside one of the Society's properties, accused him of molesting her years prior. She later died and the matter went nowhere.
After being dismissed from the Australian Branch Jaracz later became a Governing Body member.
The rumors persist but there is still no hard proof. The suspicion is that his name may be on the data base of child molester information that the Organization has compiled.

by Butterfly607 inhas anyone else seen the netflix documentary “explained: cults”?
i thought it was well done.
i feel like a jw might watch it and feel uncomfortable as the show goes through the definition of cults and then the step by step indoctrination process.

Did you use Netflix's search function? Type in "Explained," which is the name of the series. The episode on cults is one of the latest ones. It's worth seeing and I hope you can find it.

I heard that Jehovahs witnesses were briefly mentioned on a piece of text or a written list...
Yes they were.
The show explains that an area from Albany to Buffalo, known as the "burned over district," was the birth place of many new religions. The United States was particularrly receptive to new religious groups, although some had sprung up in the Middle East, Europe, and India, usually as a reaction to some sort of social or political turmoil.
Jehovah's Witnesses are included in the chart shown. JWs and Seventh Day Adventists both sprang from the Millerite branch.

Thank you Eliseo for the article, and Earnest for the translation.
This is an excellent article that touches all the bases, worldwide, on the Jehovah's Witness problems with child molesting. Lots of information is covered.(Sorry about the bad formatting below. I can't seem to get it right.)
- The pedophile database collected from 1997 forward- Law suits in the United States- The $35 million judgement in Montana- New U.S. laws extending the statute of limitations for victims- New law in New York state allowing past victims of abuse a year to file suit- Governing Body members individually being sued
- Australian Royal Commission Investigation- Watchtower's failure to participate in schemes to compensate victims
- Directive from Watchtower to elders to destroy records
- Investigation (a Royal Commission Investigation??) in the U.K.- A new Royal Commission investigation in New Zealand- The $60 million class action suit in Canada- Watchtower's internal methods of handling pedophile cases- Watchtower's failure to report pedophiles to police
- The two-witness rule followed to establish whether abuse really happened
- Watchtower's methods of intimidating victims into silence
- Police raids on Watchtower's Dutch headquarters
- A similar investigation and raid in Belgium

highlights from Circuit Overseer Guidelines
by neat blue dog ini just finished looking through the circuit overseer manual, so here are some highlights.
first up, regarding circuit assemblies:.
if a brother is so extremely overweight that others would be distracted if he had a part on the program, good judgment would need to be used in deciding whether to give him an assignment.

If there is any doubt about an experience, it should not be used.
Like anything having to do with Andre.
Of course COs didn't make him up, the Organization did.
On occasion, circuit overseers have related experiences that were inaccurate or fictitious.
I wonder where COs learned to do that. The leaders of this religion should take their own advice.
