"That's Precious."
It certainly is. When I read it I was immediately reminded that taking a blood transfusion is still on the books as being a disfellowshipping offense!
today there is a lot of hope placed in a vaccines to immunise against covid 19 , and relief that they are soon to be available.
that will be shared by the eight million or so jws in this world.
they should be thankful that the wts has moved away from its teaching ,that lasted for decades , proclaiming that vaccination was wrong, and a tool of satan.
Small Pox was a major reason to get vaccinated during the time when JWs were rejecting that treatment.
According to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Small Pox is the only human disease to be eradicated from the planet Earth. (I seem to remember reading about one other human disease that is now gone too, but I can't remember what it was.)
The last case of Small Pox happened in the 1980s thanks to the vaccination against it, and no thanks to the Watchtower Organization of Jehovah's Witnesses.
when confronted with angus stewart’s blunt question “do you see yourselves as jehovah god’s spokespeople on earth?” the answer that came from jackson’s lips was astounding.. “that i think would seem to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that god is using.
the scriptures clearly show that someone can act in harmony with god’s spirit in giving comfort and help in the congregations, but if i could just clarify a little, going back to matthew 24, clearly, jesus said that in the last days ‐ and jehovah’s witnesses believe these are the last days ‐ there would be a slave, a group of persons who would have responsibility to care for the spiritual food.
so inthat respect, we view ourselves as trying to fulfill that role.”.
FedUpJW: "With all due deference to SV, I had not read all replies before making my own. At the mouth of two or more witnesses??"
Yes, there you have it! 😊

Notice, too, that Jackson said...
"That I think would SEEM to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that God is using."
In other words, 'To you (Justice McLellan, Angus Stewart, and the Royal Commission) it might SEEM to be presumptuous but it really isn't, because you don't understand the truth like we do, and if you did understand the truth you would agree that we ARE the only Organization God is using.'
I suspect that Jackson was guided by the Legal Dept on how to respond to such a question. As mentioned, he was being sneaky and using the Theocratic Warfare Strategy, lying to the Commission after swearing to tell the truth.
prior to 1990 - as witnesses, we were frequently told about our poor mexican brothers who weren't "allowed" to use any literature out in field service, and how they weren't allowed to sing songs or use the bible at meetings.
they had to use code language like "the symbol" instead of baptism.
oh the persecution!
Myself, I was clueless about all of that until I started doing deeper research into the Organization's past, which led to me leaving within about a year. I knew that Witnesses in Mexico couldn't pray at meetings (as I recall) or do the other things that would identify them as a RELIGIOUS organization, but I had no idea that it had to do with property ownership.
Watchtower expects JWs to undergo persecution to the point of death if necessary, to maintain the beliefs and activities of JWs, but the Organization itself will flip and claim not to even be a religion when it comes to a materialistic issue such as owning property. I was stunned at the hypocrisy of that.
i saw a headline saying chile is demanding religious organizations fly the nations flag.. is this accurate?
is the society complying?.

Vanderhoven7: "JWs are all shunning me now though..."
Good for you Vander, you must be doing some things right!
i just saw the congregation analysis report for 2020, a form i have not noticed before.
it asks for the number of "active publishers.
" this is a term i have not seen specified before.
I believe the idea of individual JWs being called publishers is, not because they publish books and magazines (the Watchtower organization does that), but because they proclaim information 'publicly.'
On dictionary.com this is the 4th definition of publish ...
4. to announce formally or officially; proclaim; promulgate.
The most common use of 'publish' is to make books etc, but to announce something verbally is still a way of publishing, which is what the individual JW does.

What a crazy, bad world we live in.
And the religion we were part of, which we thought was 'no part of the world,' is as bad and as crazy as they come.

What is the worst enemy of Jehovah's Witnesses? Their own literature!
(I don't know who to credit for saying that, but I read it somewhere on the internet.)
